What is your most memorable wedding?
My most memorable wedding was one of a dear friend. It was different because I was a guest on the day and being able to see all the flowers "in action" was lovely, instead of just delivering, setting up and leaving it all. It was great hearing all the other guests comment on the flowers, many of them not knowing it was me that did them!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, flowing, informal, wild, pretty.
What about your business are you most proud of?
My reputation!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Relax and trust in your chosen suppliers...they do this all the time! It'll all come together. Enjoy the day, it goes so fast and it really is the best day of your life.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I'm a big animal lover and I love seeing the couples dogs at a wedding. The're part of the family and it's a great idea to share it with them.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
It starts usually with a message from my website or social media pages. I always suggest a zoom call with the couple where I can get a really good handle on what it is they want. I send them a quotation after the meeting and it goes from there. I have a home workshop so I'm always available for any questions, any time of day and I love sharing a private Pinterest board with my brides. We can send each other ideas and inspiration and it really helps to get across exactly what they want or I can spark ideas for them with my ideas.
What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?
Sweets! I incorporated some sugared almonds in to a bouquet once. Also, a mother's wedding ring in the bouquet. Very precious.
Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for couples?
Dahlias are a symbol of commitment, a bond that lasts forever. I think that's a good place to start! :)
What is the most romantic flower and why?
Peonies, roses, ranunculus and hydrangeas all say "romance" to me. I think it's all the blousy, lush petals and voluptuous appearance.
What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?
That's entirely personal. Some brides like their flowers preserved, some like to give them away to hospitals and some take them to the resting place of a loved one. I really like the idea of taking one or two focal flowers and having them preserved in a piece of jewellry.
