What is your most memorable wedding?
The first one! A mixture of excitement, pressure and sheer panic for the few days leading up to the wedding day I'll never forget. Luckily, I managed to stay focused and the bride absolutely loved her flowers - I saw more than I was expecting in the getting ready room that day too!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Elegant, Modern, Asymmetrical, Memorable, Organic
What about your business are you most proud of?
I'm proud that I have built the business myself; every wedding I get to work with gorgeous couples who have smiles on their faces - it brings immense joy sharing that feeling!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Book early! It may sound crazy but book your suppliers as soon as you can, ideally over 12 months before your wedding day. More and more couples are leaving 18-24 months between their engagement and wedding that booking as far in advance as possible will avoid disappointment.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I attended a wedding where the bud vases that were used as the table centrepieces were actually given to each couple attending to take home at the end of the day, loved this!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
A bespoke process from start to finish - once I receive your enquiry I'll get in contact to find out some finer details of what your vision is, I'll then provide a personal proposal and once accepted I'll keep in regular contact until your wedding day where I'll deliver and/or install your arrangements in time for your ceremony. I only book 1 wedding per day to ensure that I am focused on your wedding.
What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?
Dogwood branches - they bring height and a different colour palette to an arrangements depending on the branches maturity.
Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for couples?
Depending on the time of year that you are getting married will depend on what symbolic flowers are available - I would always recommend incorporating roses into your arrangement as there are various symbolisms depending on the colour of the flower, plus they're my favourite!
What is the most romantic flower and why?
For me the most romantic flower has to be a classic rose - whether a standard or garden variety, they're all absolutely bursting with elegance and romance.
What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?
If you have large installations then these will need to be dismantled after your wedding day. There are various options of what to do with your flowers - hand them out to your guests, donate the flowers to a local charity or repurpose them to remember those who couldn't be with you on the day at their place of rest.
