Goldfinch Floral Studio Full Description
Hi, I’m Jen and I’m based in central Somerset close within the beautiful city of Wells. I offer bespoke floral designs for all occasions and will tailor to your budget. My style has been described as eclectic, bright, bold and exotic. I draw my inspiration from my surroundings and my past experiences and I work with British flower growers when possible to source seasonal local blooms. I like to play with colour, tone and shape when putting together my flowers. I love the way that colours will change when contrasted against each other or how certain flowers and their scents provoke old memories. I work closely with my wedding couples to ensure that I put together arrangements for their wedding day that truly reflect them. I offer a bespoke service for those wanting something more personal which includes consultations, personalised moodboards and colour palettes and personal installation service & take down. For those who don't need so much I offer a capsule collection of arrangements that use the prettiest seasonal blooms with clear fixed pricing- perfect for elopements and small weddings. To say I am just passionate about flowers would be wrong - I’m not. I am passionate about what they can represent - the joy they bring and the senses they evoke. It is this passion and love that I put into every floral piece I make.

Highly Recommended!
Highly Recommend Jen of Goldfinch. She created the most gorgeous floral displays and bouquets for our wedding. She done everything I asked for and more, from first contact to the big day she was there to help and give great suggestions based on my ideas.

Even better than we could have imagined!
My husband & I had the most amazing experience from start to finish with Jen from Goldfinch Floral Studio. From our first meeting we felt confident that she knew exactly how to create what we were looking for - even though we struggled to articulate it at times! We were so grateful for her flexibility and patience as we changed our minds about certain elements of the wedding. It was all set up seamlessly on the day itself. The end result was absolutely gorgeous, even better than we had imagined!

Better than we could have imagined!
Jen and team did an absolutely amazing job of our wedding flowers. They are better than we ever could have imagined. The way she listened to our scheme and delivered everything in such short notice was second to none. Also, the best man and Co ended up moving the flowers from the church to the venue where I saw Jen had come back to the venue to help tidy them up so they looked as fresh as possible... that's dedication. Will attach more pics when they come through. Thanks again !

Frequently Asked Questions

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Ethereal, Eclectic, Exotic, Original and Bold

What about your business are you most proud of?

Diving head first into setting up on my own with a one year old in tow. Oh and my website which I built myself :-).

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Try to work out how much you are comfortable spending on each element and be honest with your suppliers - We can help you get more for your money if we know what you can happily afford.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

For a Bespoke wedding I first have a consultation with you, the bride and groom, this can be over the phone or in person. The aim of this consultation is to get to know you better, what kind of wedding you are having, if you have any likes or dislikes when it comes to your flowers, but also to know what you need for your wedding flowers, what your budget is and if you have any 'floral dreams'. Then I put together an initial quote for everything that we have discussed. If there is a budget then I will try to offer solutions to get us as close to the budget as possible. If you are happy with this then a deposit is needed to secure the date and then we will try to meet at the venue to discuss where everything will be situated and if we need to make any amendments to our plans. By this point I will also have put together a personalised moodboard and colour palette for your wedding which we can discuss in more detail at the venue. Provided all is good after this point then the next time we see each other will be on your wedding day when I will be personally handing you your bespoke bridal bouquet and buttonholes! My team and I will be on site during the day (and the day before if needed) to set everything up for you, and to manage the moving of any floral displays, and we will be back the following day to dismantle and take everything away. Anything that is still looking lovely and fresh can be popped in a bucket for you to take away and have in your home :-D

What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?

Nothing out of the 'norm' in a bouquet, however I have worked on weddings with many interesting themes such as Sci-Fi, Medieval & Beauty and the Beast!

Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for couples?

I don't go in for flower symbolisms - just pick the ones that bring you the most joy ;-)

What is the most romantic flower and why?

I think Campanula's are gorgeous for a wedding - they look like little bells, hence their common name, Bellflower. For true romance though - nothing beats a traditional garden rose - they smell divine and have oodles of fluffy petals.

What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?

We are always happy to gather up and flowers from your displays that are still looking good after your wedding and put them in water for you to take home and have around your house, its such a shame to throw them if they are still looking good. If you want to dry your bridal bouquet then you should hang it upside down somewhere cool and dry as soon as possible after your wedding day. I would recommend though just taking a couple of key flowers from your bouquet and pressing them to put in your photo album.
