What is your most memorable wedding?
The first wedding Ginacocolouise booked was a breathtaking Afternoon Tea celebration at the Four Seasons in Hampshire. The event featured an elevated Alice in Wonderland theme, adorned with spring flowers and quintessentially British styling. It was held on the year's first truly sunny day, adding an extra touch of magic to the occasion. I had the chance to glimpse the festivities in action—stunning live music filled the air, the flowers were exquisite, and guests were dressed to the nines in elegant, floaty, ruffled dresses. The entire scene resembled something straight out of a movie!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Luxurious, seasonal, textural, playful and romantic.
What about your business are you most proud of?
I take immense pride in my work when I can transform a client's vision through the 'Ginacocolouise' lens, crafting something that feels luxurious, elevated, and striking while perfectly capturing their original concept.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
That’s excellent advice! Here’s a polished version of your statement:
Be authentically yourself! The best weddings are those that genuinely reflect who the couple is. Don’t stress about whether things feel "timeless," "luxurious," or "trendy." By partnering with the right suppliers, you can ensure that the essence of who you are is captured and transformed into something truly beautiful.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Incorporating personal touches, such as a flower of significance, can add a meaningful layer to the design. Whether it's a type of rose from a childhood garden, the colour of a bouquet given on a first date, or a flower native to a favourite holiday destination, these elements enhance the unique design and weave a visual story of the couple’s shared history and future.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
It all begins with a complimentary consultation—an informal chat, either over coffee or via Zoom. This meeting helps me understand the couple's ideas and requirements while allowing us to brainstorm together. Following our discussion, I will create a bespoke design proposal and a 'shopping list' style quote. After receiving the couple’s feedback, I will refine these into a final design pack and quote.
What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?
Flowers cut that morning from their grandmother’s garden, bouquets tied with lace from their mother’s wedding dress, and ribbons adorned with a vintage family brooch.
Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for couples?
Flower choices can be deeply symbolic, such as selecting blooms that feature in romantic memories or family traditions. However, they can also be chosen simply because they are a favorite or because they perfectly capture the look and feel of the couple’s dream wedding day.
What is the most romantic flower and why?
The most romantic flower is one that can transport you back to a cherished moment in time. That’s what I strive for with all my wedding designs—to create arrangements that, whenever the couple sees them in the future, evoke the magic and memories of their special day.
What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?
As standard, we donate the flowers we collect after an event to Floral Angels or Confetti Club, and any flowers not suitable for donation are gifted to our local community. However, many brides prefer to have the flowers delivered to their homes after the wedding, so they can be dried and preserved as lasting mementos of their special day.
