What is your most memorable wedding?
I cannot possibly choose! Every wedding is completely unique, and all are memorable in their own special way. I love the diversity my customers bring to each wedding. I find it a very exciting journey getting to know my couples from day one, all the way through to their wedding day.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, Rustic, Personalised, Botanical & Luxurious.
What about your business are you most proud of?
This is another really tricky question! To be honest I am beyond proud of everything Flowershack has become, so its very difficult to pin point just one thing. Whilst I am very blessed to have had so much success with Flowershack, I still believe in and live by my core values that I decided were important to me as a business owner when I first opened Flowershack's doors.
1. Quality is key- it is of upmost importance that everything that every bloom that leaves Flowershack is of top quality.
2. A level of customer service that exceeds all others - having happy customers is key and essential for our business to thrive, we love to let our reviews do the talking for us!
3. Forever strive to increase knowledge - We don't let our success go to our heads. The floristry industry is a forever evolving industry were there's always something new that can be learnt. Keeping up with new ideas, trends and even new eco friendly methods is something we are always striving to get ahead of the curve with. It doesn't matter how many qualifications our team may have, we always keep ourselves in training in new methods so we can offer our customers the very latest floristry designs.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Create a floral Pinterest clipboard for us to look at during your wedding consultation. This way not only can we get a verbal idea of what you would like, but we can also see exactly what style you're aiming to achieve too!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
My favourite is adding the personal touches to the flowers. Guests who are so loved but are unable to be there in person to share the special day. Incorporating touching details from those who are missed is such an honour. From attaching lockets and charms to bouquets, to wrapping bouquets in their own personalised ribbon, we are here to achieve even your most personal request. No ask is too big!

HIRE US IN 5 EASY STEPS
- Step 1 -
Get in touch
Head to our Contact us form and fill out the form with your event details. The more info you can give us the better! But if you are still trying to find your wedding floral vision, that’s okay too – we can help. As a minimum, we’ll need to know your event date and venue.
- Step 2 -
We schedule a consultation.
You’ll get an email from us with info on our availability for an Initial Design Consultation. It’s helpful if you reply to it with wedding inspiration photos or a Pinterest clipboard link if you have one. We will arrange for you to meet with our head florist & business owner, Katherine, either in person or virtually, whichever you prefer.
- Step 3 -
Share your vision.
Now we chat! On our Initial Design consultation we’ll ask you all about your love story and your floral needs. You don’t need to have all the answers, but general info will help us tailor your quote to your unique wedding. We’ll ask you about things like your wedding party, ceremony, and reception, as well as extras specific to your venue.
- Step 4 -
We create your design
We’ll put together a customized proposal for you. Each design we do is done with love, so please give us time to get it just right. We aim to create a proposal for you in 7 working days. You’ll see a complete list of all florals with photos, as well as some of our suggestions on where you could upgrade or possibly reduce your investment if you have requested this. Please take some time to carefully review the proposal and ask us any questions you have.
- Step 5 -
Reserve your date
When you’re ready to book, simply pay your 30% booking fee set out on your quote and pop us an email to confirm your payment. By paying your booking fee you are agreeing to our Terms & Conditions set out in our proposal email. We will then send you your booking confirmation. Congratulations! You’re now part of the Flowershack family.
- After You Book -
HOW AND WHEN WE COMMUNICATE
What happens next
Once you have agreed your date and secured your booking most of your work is done until about six weeks before your event. We’ll reach out around then to discuss your final details, in a final design call. We will ensure everything is correct and up to date on your order.
We spend most of our time in the workshop creating beautiful floral designs. That means we are using our hands constantly, and Instagram messages, comments, and non-scheduled phone calls get lost. The best way to get in contact with us is by email – it allows us to thoughtfully respond to you once we are out of the workshop. It also keeps all communication in one place so we don’t miss any conversations. Please have patience with us during high season as it may take a couple of days to address your email.
- Changing your design -
It’s possible to adjust your design after booking. Changing things like colour rarely results in a price difference, but changing the types of flowers or the scale of your event will. Your vision will likely continue to evolve before your event date, and that’s okay. Please update us with any changes as soon as you can to ensure we have good time to update them and require if needed. Final details will be locked in upon final payment four weeks before your wedding date. After this date no changes can be made.
- Working with your planner -
If you have a wedding planner, great! If you don’t, we highly suggest that you consider hiring one so you’re not stressed during your event. Please introduce us to your planner by email so we can work with them on your timeline and other behind-the-scenes logistics. We may also visit your venue to take measurements and figure out set up before your date.
- Your Final Design Call -
We will reach out to schedule your Final Design Call about a month before your event.
We’ll go over your proposal line by line to make adjustments to the design, style or count. If you have any new wedding inspiration we’ll talk about options during this call. This is our final opportunity to make changes. After the call we’ll send over the revised proposal, you’ll make the final payment on the invoice, and we’ll immediately order your flowers. After that we are locked in.
- On your event day -
Congratulations, you’ve made it to your special day! Hopefully you’ll be stress free and enjoying your event day. But if there are any changes to the timeline or layout due to weather, please ask your wedding planner or member of your party to inform us. Please note that we are unable to relocate installations if we are already creating them onsite, so it’s best to make your weather determinations the morning of your event.
What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?
Snow Arctic Protea - a show stopping flower like no other!
Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for couples?
I believe symbolism is a personal choice. Every couple will have their own specific favourites that mean something to them. We spend lots of time getting to know our couples so we can personalise our service, guide on choices, and advise based on their individual needs. Every couple we meet is different, we pride ourselves on treating every wedding consulation individually.
What is the most romantic flower and why?
This is different for everyone depending on their meanings behind it, however mine would have to be Red Roses - Everlasting love.
What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?
You are welcome to add on a drying service to your wedding package which we can offer in house. We can also refer you to have your flowers set in resin by a local business who we work closely with.
