What is your most memorable wedding?
There have been so many and each one is memorable for different reasons. One of the funnest weddings we have been involved in was a super hero themed wedding. Bright colours, fancy dress and amazing fine details.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Fun, bold, different, individual and flawless
What about your business are you most proud of?
The continued feedback we get from our clients and relationships that grow from it. We have clients who we have seen get married, have a family and even in their darkest days following a loss, come back to us for their flowers. Many of whom we now consider friends not just clients.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
It is your day!!!! Make it about the things you love and the people you love, its not about the pomp and keeping up with the Jones's! Make it as unique and special as you are!!!!!!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Wow that's a difficult one, I love people embracing the things they love. One wedding was all about the fact the couple loved to scuba dive and everything from table centers to photos was personalised with elements. Right down to having collected sand and shells on their last trip as miss and mr for the table centers.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Most couples contact us via email or messenger, we run though a few bits and bobs check availability etc. Then we organise a face to face at a time and place convenient to them. We offer our advice show them our portfolio and make notes. We then send them a formalised quote and if happy we take a save the date deposit of £50. This secures their date with us. We only book one wedding per date to allow us to focus totally on each individual couple. We then work with them through till their day offering advice, recommending suppliers and calming nerves until the big day.
What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?
We love hidden notes. We have done quite a few of these, it could be a note from mum or dad or even the groom. These are hidden inside part of the bouquet and we inform the bride just before leaving and ask everyone to give her a few mins as it can be quite emotional.
Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for couples?
Every flower carries its own symbolic meaning. There are a few we strongly recommend people avoid. But most have lovely meanings so once we know more about our couples and colour scheme we recommend based on that. Many couples choose to include flowers from a specific country or even county that has significance to them.
What is the most romantic flower and why?
I personally love freesia, but that's because I love how delicate they are and the scent, it was my Granny's favourite flower and she used to grow them in her garden. Romance is always directed towards roses, but I love flowers that are a little wild and smell amazing.
What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?
We have a clause in our contract that states we will collect any unwanted flowers following the wedding. We then take these and repurpose them into display's that go to our local MacMillan unit and dementia home.
