What is your most memorable wedding?
Every single one of them. All weddings are unique and i love the exciting challenge of making sure i always make every single guest feel special.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Affable, friendly, smart, engaging, contemporary.
What about your business are you most proud of?
I am lucky in that i have always received glowing feedback from happy couples. I am proud that for a few minutes i can do something that makes people smile, makes people amazed and above all makes people know i enjoy performing for them. I realize i am very lucky when a couple invite me to be a part of their most important day, and that makes me want to repay that compliment in spades...
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Its always important to plan ahead. The best wedding venues, wedding caterers, wedding photographers, and wedding entertainers will always get snapped up early. Also, make sure when you talk to a wedding supplier, although its helpful to listen to their ideas, at the end of the day its YOUR wedding, so make sure you only book something you are both 100% happy with.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Personally, i love it when a couple puts effort into making sure the wedding seating plan works perfectly, who sits with whom can be important. I have on a number of occasions seen tables have a theme running through them, this can be a great ice breaker and 'talking point' for the guests.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Even though i have performed at 100's of weddings, i still feel excited when a couple include me in their wedding plans. I always aim to offer a high standard of customer service at all times. If possible i love to meet the happy couple over tea or coffee and show them a few tricks... i often find when i arrive at a wedding, they do not call me 'the magician', they call me 'our magician', these are the moments i cherish as an entertainer.
What is your No. 1 top tip for keeping a crowd entertained?
To be engaging... i always involve a guest or 2 in every trick, this leaves both a memory, but also adds to the entertainment factor, and makes the guests the stars... I will add something at this point. If you look at my testimonials, you will notice i have some from children's charities i perform for, also for the elderly in care homes and i also perform for numerous disabled charities and functions, these are things i do because i love my work and in my quieter days of the week i like to entertain people who would not normally see a magician, this is why i love magic as it makes me feel happy. I have also worked all over the world at glamorous events, including Tel Aviv and Dubai, and also United States and Russia. These are the bookings i believe have made me a good wedding magician. As i said, its always my intention to make sure every single guest is important...
Where is the most memorable place you have performed?
I was lucky to perform in a private room in Chelsea with only a dozen guests for an hour, and 1 of the guests was the lovely and delightful Prince Harry.
Have you had any interesting surprises at a wedding?
I always insure there is an 'interesting surprise' for every guest when i blow them away with my magic.
What is your party trick?
One of my earliest memories of when i was a child, was when my delightful Grandad did his magic 'party trick' with a coin for me, i was totally blown away, and even though i was barely 5 years old, i remember that feeling of joy till this day, its a memory i cherish as i was very close to him as he was so funny always telling silly jokes... I hope every trick i do at a wedding is my 'party trick', not just because it hopefully brings them joy, but because i am sure they see the personal passion i have doing magic and that inspires them in some way...
