Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Fun, Friendly, Professional, Approachable, Honest
What about your business are you most proud of?
Either the awards we have won as it is nice to know that the hard work of you and your team is being recognised, or the reputation we have within the industry for being ever reliable (we've never let anyone down and often stepped in when others have) and open and honest with our customers.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Probably budget first-you have to have a budget in mind even if it isn't set in stone and agree on that number so you both know what you are working with when it comes to the extras and special touches. All of our wedding top tips can be found at www.jabsevents.com/wedding-planning-top-tips
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Every wedding is different and always very personal so it's hard to choose just one. I think when the wedding favours are home made, personalised or unique to the couple themselves (favourite sweets or drinks) then it just adds that something a bit extra without breaking the bank.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
So generally we will receive an enquiry from a couple via email, our enquiry form, a platform such as Bridebook or a phone call. We firstly check that we have the date available and get some basic details like the venue, ideas of what you're looking for (DJ, photo booth, dancefloor etc).
We then arrange a completely free, no obligation consultation either at your home or the venue to discuss in more detail and look at costings. This isn't compulsary-some couples have been on the website, worked out costs and know exactly what they want which is absolutely fine. Others aren't too sure what they're looking for or what will work at their venue so want to sit down and have a friendly chat about ideas and what we know from our experience,
We then write up a booking form with all of the information for your special day, this acts as an itemised quote for everything that we discuss at the consultation so you can see how much each thing is costing and add or remove things if you wish.
That quote remains valid for 14 days-if you wish to go ahead with the booking we take a small booking fee per item to confirm and secure your date.
After that there is nothing to worry about until closer to the time. The remaining balance is due 28 days prior and we will be in touch approx 2 weeks prior to discuss song choices and your first dance.
We are, however, always available on the phone or via email to chat, answer any questions or just offer advice for anything to do with your special day. As qualified wedding planners we like to think that we can help couples through what can be a very stressful time and will assist in any way that we can.
What is your No. 1 top tip for keeping a crowd entertained?
Read the room.
Though all of our DJs have an idea of typical songs that people in enjoy at weddings, every couple and their guests are different. This is why we always take an idea of music tastes prior to your big day and we will gladly take guest requests on the evening. But reading the room, knowing what people are enjoying and catering to different tastes is something that we always keep in mind at every special occasion.
Where is the most memorable place you have performed?
As a company with have provided services for many different and memorable events. This ranges from club nights in Las Vegas to providing music and sound system for the Conservative Party conference, many different and wonderful weddings, Birmingham Pride every year and big corporate events for companies like Ikea and Poundland. Every event we attend is memorable for different reasons
