I read the Rider Waite Smith tarot deck for individuals and groups at events and on a 1:1 basis. At weddings, I can set up a table at your venue during the drinks reception or party, so that guests are free to approach and receive short (5-15 minute) readings.
Tarot is a powerful tool for self-discovery, utilising familiar symbols and archetypes to bring the subconscious to the surface. My approach is accessible, insightful and uplifting, aiming to bring clarity – not doom and gloom.

Tarot readings... is that like fortune telling?
In my approach, readings provide a message for the recipient, but not with a view to reading the future per se. Rather, it provides an insight into the listener's own subconscious mind. So it may tell someone how they feel about their future, and how to navigate those feelings. My intention is to hold up a mirror to the recipient in a way that makes them feel seen, and provides them a spark of clarity from within.
That sounds deep... too deep for a wedding?
I like to keep things lighthearted! No one will walk away feeling they'll die next week. In short format readings (under 15 minutes), it's more of a brief moment of reflection. Plus, I like to inject some humour and find ways to put guests at ease. Most guests love the opportunity for some quiet attention, and to be shown a new aspect of their subconscious mind.
So how do your readings work?
I set up a table, and guests can approach me for readings alone or in small groups. I shuffle the deck, have guests cut the cards, and they can choose whether to ask a question or keep things open-ended. I pull three cards from their chosen section of the deck, and lay them out. I explain the meaning of each in turn, then reveal the narrative the three cards tell together. The recipient has only to listen and reflect, but they are welcome to ask questions or share their own reflections and ideas about their cards' meaning.
What do guests think about tarot readings?
I've found that tarot can bring something to everyone. The more spiritually attuned recipients can feel profoundly uplifted, but even sceptical and guarded guests usually go away with a newfound insight. At any event, curiosity is high and the queue for readings can get competitive!
How long should we you book for?
My minimum time is two hours, including set-up time. In the space of one hour, I can generally perform 6-10 readings, depending on length. I'd be glad to offer a free consultation to discuss how your day will look and where I can fit in.
What do you usually wear? I have a very specific theme...
I'm open to dressing up or down depending on what you'd prefer. It's your wedding after all!
Why are you called Fish and Cup?
The name comes from a tarot card, one of the 56 Minor Arcana: The Page of Cups. Pamela Colman Smith's charming illustration features a fish peeking out of a golden chalice.
The suit of Cups represents the element of water, symbolising our inner world of emotion and intuition. The fish in the cup denotes a message from the psyche – exactly what I seek to provide through my readings.
