Candy Floss Events brings a fun, memorable, and interactive sweet-treat experience to weddings and special events across the North East and beyond. We specialise in freshly made candy floss and popcorn served live at your venue, creating a real show for guests as well as a delicious treat.
Our service is all about entertainment as much as it is about catering. Guests can watch the candy floss being spun in front of them or enjoy the smell and theatre of freshly popped popcorn served warm throughout your event. Everything is operated by a friendly, professional attendant who keeps the service running smoothly and ensures every guest is looked after.
We offer unlimited servings for the duration of your hire, making it perfect for weddings where guests of all ages can enjoy as much as they like. Whether it’s a evening reception, evening buffet alternative, or a late-night snack station, our stalls always add a lively focal point and a talking point for guests.
We pride ourselves on being reliable, easy to work with, and adaptable to different venues and setups. Our stall footprint is compact, making us suitable for most indoor and outdoor spaces, and we always work closely with couples and venues to ensure everything runs seamlessly on the day.
Above all, we focus on creating joyful moments. From children to adults, everyone loves a bit of nostalgia with fresh candy floss and popcorn, and we’re proud to add a bit of magic (and sweetness) to your celebration.
One of our most memorable weddings was at Spanish City in Whitley Bay. There was something really special about serving candy floss in the iconic Dome, knowing that candy floss has been part of the area's seaside and fairground heritage for generations. To bring that same nostalgic treat into such a beautiful wedding setting felt like the perfect combination of tradition and celebration.
The couple wanted something fun and different for their guests, candy floss stall quickly became a focal point of the evening. Guests of all ages were queuing up, sharing memories of visits to the fairground while creating new memories together at the wedding.
Seeing candy floss, a treat so closely associated with the famous fairground, being enjoyed inside the Dome during a wedding reception made the occasion truly unforgettable. The smiles, laughter and fantastic photographs captured exactly why we love being part of weddings, creating moments that guests will remember long after the last dance.
Professional, Fun, Reliable, Friendly, Memorable
These adjectives reflect the experience couples and guests receive, from dependable service and a warm approach to creating a fun atmosphere and lasting memories at weddings and events.
What I'm most proud of is the joy our candy floss and popcorn stalls bring to people of all ages. Whether it's a wedding, school fair, corporate event, or community celebration, there's something special about seeing guests smile when they receive a freshly made treat.
I'm also proud that Candy Floss Events has built a reputation for reliability, friendly service, and going the extra mile. With over 15 years of experience in the events industry, we understand how important every event is, and we treat each one as if it were our own. We regularly stay beyond our agreed finish time at no extra charge to make sure everyone gets their fair share and no guest leaves disappointed.
The greatest compliment we receive is when venues, event organisers, and couples recommend us to others or invite us back year after year. That trust is something we never take for granted.
My number one wedding planning tip is to focus on how you want your wedding to feel, not just how it will look.
The most memorable weddings are the ones where couples prioritise creating a fun, relaxed atmosphere for their guests. Once you've secured the essentials, think about the little touches that keep everyone entertained and smiling throughout the day. Years later, your guests may not remember every decoration, but they'll remember how much fun they had celebrating with you.
Most importantly, enjoy the planning process and remember that your wedding is about celebrating your love story with the people who matter most.
As a wedding supplier, I've learned that it's often the small, meaningful details that guests remember most. Whether it's a favourite childhood sweet, a tribute to family traditions, or a nod to how the couple first met, those personal touches make a wedding feel truly unique and tell the couple's story in a memorable way.
From the first enquiry, we aim to keep everything simple, friendly & stress-free. We respond quickly with clear pricing and availability, and we’re always happy to tailor our service to suit the couple, guest numbers, venue and timings.
Once a booking is confirmed, we stay in regular contact right up to the wedding day to finalise all details, including setup, access, and any special requests. We coordinate closely with the venue or planner to make sure everything runs smoothly.
On the day, we arrive in plenty of time to set up professionally & discreetly, ensuring everything is ready before guests arrive. During the event, we provide a fully attended service with unlimited freshly made candy floss and popcorn, adding a fun, interactive touch while working seamlessly alongside the schedule.
Our goal is always to deliver a reliable, fun and memorable experience so the couple can relax and enjoy their celebration.
Keep them involved, not just watching.
From my experience at hundreds of events, the biggest difference between a “nice event” and a “memorable one” is interaction. People don’t just want entertainment in front of them, they want to be part of it.
Live, hands-on experiences work every time. A candy floss or popcorn stall where guests can watch it being made fresh, smell it, chat with the attendant, and walk away with something in their hands instantly creates a buzz. It naturally draws people together, fills those quiet gaps in the schedule, and keeps all ages engaged without you needing to constantly manage it.
If the crowd is busy experiencing something, they’re entertained without even realising it.
One of the most memorable places we’ve performed has to be the Spanish City in Whitley Bay. It’s such an iconic and beautiful seaside venue, and the atmosphere at weddings there is always incredible. Seeing guests enjoying freshly made candy floss and popcorn right in that setting really stands out for us.
We’ve also loved working at unique wedding fairs and venues across the North East, but Spanish City definitely remains a favourite because of how special the surroundings feel on such important days.
Yes, we’ve had a few lovely ones over the years that really stick in the memory.
One of the most common “surprises” is when guests assume the candy floss or popcorn stall is just for the children, and then you suddenly see the adults getting just as excited, lining up again and again for seconds (and thirds!). It always turns into a bit of a fun talking point and breaks the ice between guests who might not know each other well.
We’ve also had surprise late-night requests from brides and grooms to keep the stall running a little longer because it’s become such a hit on the dance floor. There’s something about freshly made candy floss or warm popcorn that keeps the energy going right into the evening.
But the best surprises are always the reactions, people seeing the candy floss spun fresh in front of them and instantly smiling like they’re a kid again. That never gets old.
My party trick is creating fresh, fluffy candy floss and hot, cinema-style popcorn right in front of guests while keeping the energy up and getting everyone involved. I love turning it into a bit of a show as well as a treat, especially when children and guests gather round to watch it being made. It always ends up being a talking point and adds a bit of fun theatre to the event as well as something everyone can enjoy eating.
