What is the best time for live guest painting?
The drinks reception / wedding breakfast is the best and most effective time for a live guest illustrator to begin. This makes the natural light ideal for sketching and painting, while also serving as a great conversation starter and icebreaker for guests.
How does the booking process work?
1. You get in touch with me with your date, timing, venue, number of guests expected and also if you wish to customise the package with any extra add-ons (for wedding couples) and I then provide you with a final quote.
2. If you are happy to proceed with the booking, I send you a contract together with a payment link for a 30% deposit of the total quote to secure your booking.
3. I then get in touch with you closer to the event to discuss space arrangement and specific requests you may have.
4. You pay the remaining balance one month before the event.
5. I arrive around one hour earlier (before the ceremony starts) to set up the work space.
How many Illustrations can you draw?
I typically draw 8-10 illustrations per hour depending on complexity like prints or patterns on the clothes, accessories, poses etc.
How does the live guest illustration process work on the day?
-I and my assistant (aka husband) arrive around half an hour before the ceremony starts
-We set up our station
-During the drinks reception, I approach the guests by introducing myself and start taking quick photos
-I have the photos now so I commence my illustration work
-My first illustration is of course the one of the bride and groom, framed and displayed for everyone to enjoy
-I carry on with illustrating guests, all works are displayed on the table for later collection
Do you work alone?
I arrive at the event together with my assistant (aka husband). I do the illustration myself, and my husband assists with me taking videos and photos.
How far in advance do I need to make booking?
If possible, booking 10 to 12 months is kindly recommended.
What if it is an outdoor event?
I am absolutely fine to work outdoors, as long as the working station is located in shade or under the cover in case of rain, we'll be good to go.
Will you travel?
Yes. Please note, for venues located further than 50 miles away from Plymouth, travel and accommodation fees apply.
Do you do digital illustrations?
I don’t do digital live event illustration.
