What is your most memorable wedding?
My most memorable wedding was in November 2014. It was in North Cadbury Court for Sarah and Paul. It was my most memorable because it was the last wedding we did with two of our birds. I will never forget it, we had such a lovely time, and the venue was gorgeous.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Unconventional, Unique, Fun, Rare, Offbeat
What about your business are you most proud of?
The birds. They are fantastic, and I feel they adore the weddings! It's also a great chance to get people up close with them. We often talk about conservation and help to educate people more on all of our Birds of Prey and our native wildlife.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Think ahead. Don't do things at the last minute.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
We once had a bride book us to surprise her future husband. He was away serving the country, came back for the wedding, and when our Harris Hawk delivered the rings to his father, he burst out crying. It was definitely one we won't be forgetting any time soon!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We usually either meet them at a wedding fayre, or have an email. We will discuss several details, including availability and price. For the couple to be able to book, they need permission, so we make sure we have everything before they go ahead and book. We require a £50 non-refundable deposit to help hold the date, and the outstanding amount can be paid however, as long as full payment is received a month before the wedding. We don't always talk to the couple. We sometimes only talk to the best man/ a parent/ a friend arranging this for them. We will answer any questions anyone has to make sure that everyone is okay and not scared of the birds. We want the process to be easy and amazing for everyone involved.
