Full Description
Established in 2010 Sally Lacock's made to measure bridal atelier has remained true to it's roots creating beautifully crafted, handmade wedding dresses in the softest French lace and silks. Sally's designs, which have been described by clients as works of art, are primarily inspired by her love for the timelessness and romantic appeal of vintage garments and antique textiles which is reflected in the cream, gold and antique tones that she favours over traditional bridal white. The dresses and bridal separates are all hand made in the atelier, celebrating time-honoured skills and with an attention to detail rarely found in contemporary garments. Being a small atelier Sally and her team are able to offer a bespoke service where they get to know their clients well and positively encourage brides to choose their own design details. All appointments are private, relaxed and friendly where you will be listened to carefully as well as being offered an abundance of creative and inspiring ideas. Sally believes that the only way to ensure a flattering perfect fit is to have a dress made specifically to your body measurements, this is reflected in the individual pattern service for which they are renowned. Sally remarks “It is a careful, considered process and I think you deserve nothing less from your dress purchase of a lifetime”

Describe your typical process with a couple.

We initially meet with a bride and chat about her type of wedding, the sort of dress style she wants and present our collection. After trying on a few styles we get a sense of what works for her and make suggestions. Once a decision is made we take measurements and start work on the dress. We schedule in one or two in work fittings where as well as perfecting the fit we have fun with styling and accessories.

What do you love most about your job?

Everything, especially seeing the brides delight in her dress once everything is complete.

I particularly love Edwardian lace wedding dresses and 1930s bias cut wedding dresses, but anything relaxed that allows the brides personality to shine.

That's such an individual choice that I don't think I can answer the question.
