Full Description
Sally-Ann Provan is an award-winning milliner based in Edinburgh with a far reaching reputation for distinctive design, and a client base stretching round the world. From The Edinburgh Hat Studio, she creates distinctive elegant modern millinery and headpieces for weddings, racing and formal events. Specializing in hats and headpieces for the bride, the mothers of the bride and groom, and guests. Each client receives personal undivided attention from Sally to discuss her own style, and try on different styles, a hand-dyeing colour-matching service is available. She also runs Fascinator-making Hen Parties for up to 20 guests, which can be delivered at her sunny studio or at a venue of your choice (travel fees may apply). There are 3 packages to choose from, and a selection of additional extras to make your event even more special. After an Honours degree in Jewellery, Sally trained in couture millinery under the late Queen Mother's milliner, and in theatrical millinery with The Royal Opera House. Her clients include several members of the Royal Family including HRH The Duchess of Cambridge and HRH Princess Beatrice, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, mezzo soprano Katherine Jenkins, ITV’s Charlotte Hawkins, Edith Bowman, and The BBC. She is milliner to Scottish Opera, and is a V&A Dundee Design Champion. She has shown at London Fashion Week, the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show (USA), Origin (London), 'Dressed to Kilt' (New York), and ‘UK Now’(Melbourne). Her work is featured in 4 books, regularly in the press and in the National Museum of Scotland’s ‘Fashion and Style’ gallery.
