I loved the design process of my dress. I’m not the most creative person in the world but I do know what style suits my figure. Between my own ideas and with Hemyca’s creativity and guidance we produced something that was absolutely perfect and more than I could have wished for. What I particularly love about the girls is that they aren’t ‘yes’ people. They will challenge you and help you push the boundaries which is important when it comes to a statement piece like a wedding dress. If they don’t believe something will work they will help you come up with a creative solution. This is exactly what you need from a designer. This approach ensures you end up with something that is perfect and everyone is proud of.

When I commissioned HEMYCA to design my wedding dress, I went into the process knowing this was a team I could work with to create a dress that would perfectly represent the best version of myself for my big day. When I tried on dresses in numerous bridal stores I found plenty of beautiful ones but none of them felt like “me”. It felt like dressing up - trying to fit into the expectation of what a bride should look like. That’s never really been my style! I dance to the beat of my own drum, so I went to the girls with some ideas and they worked with me to create the perfect dress. They took my concept and guided me through the process to a dress that suited my shape as well as my style and personality. It was one of my favourite experiences of my whole wedding and on the day I felt empowered, comfortable, beautiful and most importantly - me! The fabrics were devine and the perfect backdrop for my stunning accessories. I am a HEMYCA girl through and through and cannot thank them enough.

They worked with me to turn the ideas on my mood board into something real that suited my personality and figure perfectly. The sewing and craftsmanship in the finished details were amazing. I felt so special and unique in my bespoke dress, it made me so much more relaxed and confident on my wedding day. I had some specific requests in my brief, the main one being, that I wanted to be able to really dance in my dress without being restricted and Helen & Myra rose to the challenge! I found the experience of being measured and fitted at the studio was relaxing despite being self conscious about my body. The team put me at ease and were meticulous in making sure the dress fitted me and complimented the best parts of my figure. I was so in love with my dress that I didn’t want to take it off!
