When I first went to see Catherine I was very concerned. I am overweight and in my 60's and here I am trying on wedding dresses...what was I thinking?? Catherine has a wonderfully empathetic approach and she reassured me. The flowing (hide all the bulges) long sleeved type dress I was thinking of didn't seem to work and Catherine persuaded me to try a strapless corseted dress....and I cried when I saw myself. The decision was made but I was still wanting to cover my upper arms and we chose a beautiful lace bolero, small clear poppers made sure the jacket stayed where we wanted it, until I felt comfortable enough to remove it. During the fittings processes I broke my scaphoid bone in my thumb and for a while it looked like I would be in plaster. Catherine was totally unfazed and we found some lace that, if we needed to, we could make the sleeves cuff length rather than the intended three quarter length. In the event I wasn't in plaster but Catherine was so on the ball just to make sure I didn't worry unnecessarily. When It became clear that my daughter-in-law (my matron of honour) couldn't make the fittings I worried about how she would know how to do the lacing of the corset. Catherine suggested using a video recording on my husbands iPad. This worked wonderfully and is a special keepsake from that time. Catherine made me feel like I was special not just a customer, I feel sure that she does this to all her customers and that is so much a part of her success.
