We are Mark The Occasion Hire, a small team run by husband and wife, Mark & Katie, based in Matlock and offering Wedding Decor and 4ft LED Letter hire in Derbyshire, South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and now covering Leicestershire and Staffordshire too.
Our business is built on what our lovely couples want and need, after we were married ourselves (October 2023) we wanted to make the planning and decorations as stress free as possible, we made our first Rustic LOVE set, and the rest is history.
We cover Matlock, Chesterfield, Bakewell, Buxton, Mansfield, Sheffield, Nottingham, Leicester, Derby, the Peak District and all surrounding areas.
We offer premade packages & bespoke packages for almost all things wedding decor to help elevate your special day to be as memorable as it deserves. Most of our letters and rustic items are handcrafted by ourselves, so they are truly unique!
We offer standalone wedding focal points, from 4ft LED Letters, 11ft Blossom Trees, Flower and Rustic Arches and Flowerwalls to Aisle and Centre Piece Decorations to Full Wedding Dressing Packages. We specialise in the 50-150 range but can cater to more depending on your needs.
We are 100% happy couple focused. No upselling, no trying to push you into packages you don't want or need, we want super happy couples, that leave amazing feedback and tell everyone we are brilliant so we get more work to follow, we only get that by striving to deliver on what we promise and overdelivering on value!

What areas do you cover?
We’re based in Matlock and mainly cover weddings across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire. We generally work within around an hour of our showroom, but if you’re unsure whether we cover your venue, just drop us a message and we’ll happily check.
Do you have a showroom we can visit?
Yes! We have a large wedding décor showroom in Matlock where you can come and meet us, see lots of our décor in person and chat through ideas for your day. Showroom consultations are relaxed and informal – whether you know exactly what you want or need a little help figuring it all out.
Do you offer wedding décor packages?
Absolutely. We offer wedding décor packages as a starting point, but we know every wedding is different, so we’re always happy to tailor things to suit your venue, style and plans for the day. We can help with everything from your ceremony through to your wedding breakfast and evening reception.
Do you set everything up for us?
Yes – that’s a big part of what we do! We’ll deliver your décor to the venue, set everything up ready for you and return to collect it afterwards. We want you to be enjoying your wedding morning, not worrying about setting up centrepieces, arches and chair décor.
Can you move décor between our ceremony and wedding breakfast?
Yes, where possible. Lots of our décor can be reused throughout different parts of your wedding day. We can discuss your timings and venue setup beforehand and work out what can be moved or repurposed, helping you get the most from your décor.
How far in advance should we book our wedding décor?
There’s no set rule, but we’d always recommend getting in touch as soon as you have your date and venue confirmed. We only take on a limited number of weddings so that we can give each couple the time and attention they deserve, and popular dates can book up well in advance.
How much does it cost to secure our wedding date?
A £99 deposit secures your wedding date with us, with the remaining balance due four weeks before your wedding. Once your date is secured, we can continue working with you on the finer details as your plans come together.
We don’t really know what wedding décor we want yet – can you help?
Of course – and you definitely don’t need to know all the answers before speaking to us! Lots of couples come to our showroom with a colour scheme, a few inspiration photos or simply an idea of how they’d like their wedding to feel. We can talk everything through with you and help create a look that works beautifully with your venue and your day.
Can we change our décor after we’ve booked?
Yes. We understand that wedding plans evolve! Once you’ve booked, we’ll continue working with you as your ideas develop. We’re generally very flexible with changes and additions, subject to availability, and we’ll make sure everything is finalised in plenty of time before your wedding.
