What is your most memorable wedding?
Is it too cheesy to say our own? The pressure was on for a wine merchant to provide some fantastic wines at his own wedding - and hopefully we didn't disappoint our 200 guests! Our caterer was slightly bemused at the different number of wine glasses needed per place setting - but since there was champagne, white, red, rose, dessert wine and port to be served we needed quite a few! As a husband and wife team now, working together in the shop, we're well placed to offer advice to other wedding couples as we've been through it all ourselves!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Friendly, informative, helpful, easy-going and fabulous!
What about your business are you most proud of?
Our customer service - we know what it's like to suddenly have to organise the biggest party of your life with sometimes little or no experience of this sort of thing, so we aim to make the wine part as easy as possible for you - and the most fun!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Enjoy the planning... Especially the wine buying bit! Don't worry about quantities or what to serve when - buying from an established merchant (like us) will mean we do those calculations for you, leaving you to just enjoy tasting the samples!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
We love it when people create their own cocktail - the Mr & Mrs Mojito or Paul & Poppy's Pina Colada - and of course you can have it served from our vintage Citroen H Van if you like! Check her out at www.taurusontour.co.uk
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We recommend you come in and see us about 8-6 weeks before your wedding (it can be more last minute, but it's best to give yourself some time to taste the samples with your wedding food). At one of our wedding meetings we take about 45 mins - 1 hr to run through your special day with you, going from start to finish talking about all your wine needs. We also supply local beers by the barrel and can supply cocktails too - plus lots more fun finishing touches. When you leave you'll have a much better idea of how much wine you'll need and hopefully go home with a few sample bottles too, so you can try the wines at home in a nice, chilled out way. Once you've decided what you'd like to order, just email us your confirmation and the next time you see your wine will be in a glass on your wedding day! We do all the delivering and pick ups, leaving you to enjoy the day (and not have to worry about it the next day either!)
