Full Description
We believe that excellent food should be enjoyed with close friends and family in relaxed surroundings. We will help you with your menu and itinerary and there is always a professional event manager at every wedding. They will meet you beforehand to run over any last minute details. Caroline spends a lot of time foraging in the hedgerows. We always use local ingredients where possible. We make our own elderflower cordial, wild crabapple jelly, chutneys and wild garlic pesto. We also pick field mushrooms and puffballs when they are in season. We have our own pigs which is where the amazing sausages come from, and free range hens for eggs. Our head chef Michael, has the most amazing talent for creating really delicious full flavoured food with top class presentation.

Best wedding food ever!
My husband and I would like to say an enormous Thank You to Caroline, Sarah and the whole team for providing their truly delicious food and wonderful service at our wedding. We asked Caroline and her team to provide a Friday evening family supper, the Wedding Breakfast and a Hog Roast on Sunday. We felt incredibly well looked after throughout our special weekend. Many of our guests commented on how delicious the food was, including one of the ushers saying it was the best wedding food he'd ever had. Caroline personally saw to it that my husband and I were particularly well looked after, including personally bringing a beautiful selection of canapés over to us just after we'd finished our couples photographs so we could enjoy a moment together. We'd also like to Thank Annie for the most delicious and beautiful Lemon Sponge wedding cake. All in all, CGC helped make our wedding weekend absolutely unforgettable.”

The food was sensational!
Dear Sarah & Caroline, I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to you both of all the organising and catering for our wedding on Saturday. The food was sensational - everyone was raving about the delicious canapés & the steak & chips. One of the ushers said the brownies were the best he’s ever had! Everything was just so well done on the day it was just the best! Caroline it was lovely to see you (all too briefly!!) and thank you for running the day. The staff were so friendly, particularly the girl who fed me the veg tempura while the boys were having their ushers photos done - it was delicious! Sarah thank you for all your help and expertise and all the planning the last few months, I couldn’t have done it without you. You are so efficient and it was a joy working with you! I will miss our weekly chats about margs! I will send some pics shortly!

Kilver Court
Well, what can I say? It was beyond our expectations! Naomi was absolutely brilliant, she kept us all calm in the morning and everything ran with ease throughout the day, she was just amazing. The food was delicious and we have had so many wonderful comments about the food as well as the waitresses, they kept the wine glasses full and were on hand to help with anything that the guests required. Please pass on a big thank you to Jess who also ran the bar in the evening, I've had so many wonderful comments about her from guests and she was particularly lovely to Alex & I and brought drinks over to us whilst we were having pictures taken so that we wouldn't be missing out. No guests have guessed about the pregnancy either so thank you very much to everyone for their discretion. I honestly can't say enough lovely things about it all. I was the best day of our lives and we wish we could do it all over again. Thank you so much for all of your help in the run up to the wedding too, everything is very much appreciated.

What is your most memorable wedding?

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Creative. Enduring. Colourful. Slick service. Excellent time keeping.

Our creativity with the amazing produce we have all around us here in the Somerset countryside.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Get organised well ahead of time

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Small baskets of edible leaves and herbs on each table to nibble on.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

We send them a detailed quote, so they know exactly our pricing and there are no nasty invoices after the event ever. If they wish to proceed, we either meet them on site if it is a marquee wedding, or they come here if it is at a venue we are used to. Then we run through the menu and itinerary. Sometimes people like to have a food tasting. We then stay in touch, all the way to the big day making sure everything is correctly organised and planned. Our event team then arrive on the day. The waitresses lay the tables, and the canapes are prepared. The chefs get on with the business of getting the food ready, and when the guests get back from the ceremony, they are all handed a glass of champagne or something, and canapes are served. After 1.5 hours they are invited to find their seats. Glasses are topped up, or a fresh one handed to each guest. We try to ensure the speeches take place before the meal, as it gives people a chance to have a break between canapes and the meal, and if one of the speakers is a little nervous, then can get it over with. Also we tend to find that if a fresh glass of bubbly is handed round during the pudding for speeches after the meal A. it is a second complete set of flutes, and B. very often people have had their fill of bubbly before the meal and it doesn't get drunk. C. lots of people get up straight after pudding to go to the loo or have a cigarette outside, so they have to be rounded up again. If there are evening guests, usually the cake is cut when they arrive, so they have some part in the process.
