Black Peppermint

Do not use Black Peppermint. We had a bad experience from beginning to end. We were forced to use them as our caterer by the wedding venue we booked. Our problems started when we went to confirm our menu. We had been given their price guide and decided to book our wedding venue based on the costs of food and drink. When we went to pay our deposit, we were given new prices, which made our total a lot more expensive and caused a lot of stress. On top of this, we were then told of the surprise costs of having to pay for an event manager, the chef, deputy chef and all the staff who would serve throughout our day. This costs was way over £1500. Disgusting! We had issues along the way, but the icing on the cake was they lost our personal property. I have been in email communications with them, but they do not care. Our personal property has been lost or stolen, and the company could not care less. We spent thousands on food with Black Peppermint, and they lose and steal your personal property. Stay clear and pick a company who actually deserves your business. Every other single company who supplied for our wedding was amazing. Black Peppermint do not deserve your business. Look elsewhere!

As the bride’s parents, we were only a little involved later on, but the food was lovely and we appreciated the attention to detail that you gave. Good afternoon, My name is Lucy Greaves and I am writing this on behalf of my husband John and I. We got married at Calke on the 16th March 2018 at Calke Abbey where you provided the catering for our wedding. We wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all so much for an amazing day, the food was unbelievable the canapés were to die for and we are so extremely grateful. The whole process from start to finish has been brilliant and we really want to thank you for my making our day even more memorable. We have been overwhelmed with compliments regarding the food and the service, so we really wanted to pass this on and our thanks for all your support and fantastic service. Guys, I know I said it a zillion times on Saturday, but thank you so much for everything :-) We had such a perfect day and the room looked absolutely incredible. The ceremony (from what I can remember!) was so beautiful and romantic (swooon).............well worth the 2 year wait!! Apologies for the late arrival of one of my bridesmaids, I can't thank you enough for not stressing me with that and for making sure that Sam knew I was there and putting his mind at rest. I know the registrar wasn't impressed so again thank you for dealing with that for us. I realise how close to the bone we were to starting without them (gulp!!) and thank you for dealing so professionally with the knock-on effect the lateness had on the day. The food, wow the food! Again incredible! Everyone commented on how delicious the food was, I know Sam and I certainly asked for seconds! You were so attentive Zoe making sure we were happy with everything and always with a smile :-) Again, we can not thank you enough, Zoe please also thank Adam and the rest of the team for all the hard work. We are absolutely knackered today now the adrenaline has warn off (and sadly back to the reality of work!) ha ha, but it was worth EVERY SINGLE SECOND! Guys, can we do it all again!! Hi Adam and Zoe Just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thank you so much for this weekend. You were the consummate professionals the whole time - I can't imagine the coordination that needs to go on for things to have gone so smoothly! The food was, of course, amazing - we have had so many compliments about it! Absolutely first class service from Adam and his team at my son’s wedding. It was a venue that they weren’t familiar with but my goodness - you would think they were the in-house caterers! The food was delicious and Zoe was amazing ensuring that everything ran smoothly from start to finish. If you’re looking for caterers for your event then these are the guys for you - 110% recommended!

We really have been SO massively impressed with Black Peppermint, right from our first meeting with Adam almost two years ago.Our ideas about the structure of the reception and the meal were a little bit different, but what we loved was the way you absolutely embraced that and worked so hard to make sure everything panned out on the day *exactly* as we wanted. And in terms of the food itself oh wow did you guys deliver. Every element of the meal on the day was utterly amazing - I have lost count of the number of people that have told us it's the best wedding food they've ever had, and a lot of them serious foodies like us. We've even had some people saying it was the best food they've ever had, full stop! Honestly, people have raved about every single aspect, from the ham hock terrine (sublime) and the bread and butter pudding (literally the best we've ever tasted) right through to the salad dressing (so many people in love with it!). Massive kudos to Adam and all of the kitchen team for creating such a perfect and special experience for us and all our guests. Our gratitude extends well beyond the food though - Zoe we cannot thank you enough for being such an awesome event manager on the day. Given the wedding was so DIY and pretty non-standard in structure we really felt that you were the lynch pin holding the whole thing together. You were super chilled and calm throughout, but also clearly working damn hard to make sure everything flowed completely seamlessly. You also seemed to be genuinely having a nice time, which made us really happy! Honestly guys, we really cannot overstate how *amazing* you were on the wedding day, and without doubt we will be recommending you to anyone and everyone we know that's getting married. Where do I begin... oh yeah, they're all nothing but absolute rock stars!!! �� We can't thank you enough for providing one hell of a meal... A great way to start married life!! And the evening pizzas and sweet pot chips ...well, our guests are still raving about them now. Huge shout out to all the staff. But in particular, Adam, who was a fan-bloody-tastic chef, great to work with from tastings through to nibbles. Sophie made sure the day ran like clockwork and waiter, Nevada, went down an absolute storm with our guests. Love you all, can't recommend enough!!!!

As a nutritionist and lover of food black peppermint did not disappoint! The food was out of this world, and still has all of our guests talking about - it even now! The team did a fabulous job and everything ran like clockwork. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made our day perfect in every way! My only regret is that I didn't get any photos of the yummy food - as my friends know, I always photograph my food Thank you thank you thank you - Mr & Mrs Clay xxx
