What is your most memorable wedding?
Definitely a gorgeous summer wedding in a tipi with a festival theme. The brides family were farmers, we had a farm themed cake, a fondant tractor cake topper and real life alpacas in the next field!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Stylish, modern, bespoke, romantic, pretty
What about your business are you most proud of?
Setting up and becoming a success within a year with a diary full of bookings for not only this year but the next 2 years!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Get your suppliers booked early - details and style of your cake can come later but get your date in the diary!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I see so many creative elements when I'm setting up a cake - I loved a seating plan with the table names on wooden chopping boards as the bride and groom were avid foodies! Let your imagination go wild and make the wedding all about you!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After initial contact whether it be at a wedding fair or an enquiry, I send out information to a couple with an invitation to come along for a tasting consultation. We chat about the cake and its design whilst they get chance to sample lots of yummy cake. I then send out a quote. If they are happy, then a sketch of the cake design is sent and we work with this to make it their perfect wedding cake. Around 4-6 weeks prior to the wedding I'll be in touch and arrange either another final consultation or a phone call where we confirm final details of the cake including flavours and final design.
What is your signature cake?
I use a lot of cake spacers and separators. I love clear acrylic tiers too. There are so many things you can do with them, they all add additional height and create interest and make such a feature of your cake. I love flowers on cakes too
