First point of contact is usually through my social media or email. We can then arrange a consultation either in person or via media platforms that suit us both. At which point we discuss designs, themes, or cakes you may have already seen. We discuss numbers, flavours, cake tastings can be arranged for the same time, and those details that are important to you. I then quick sketch a design to make sure I’ve captured the essence of what you want. On the day I’ll confirm when the cake has been delivered so that all that’s left for you to do is relax and enjoy your day.
What is your signature cake?
Any thing with a sugar flower on it and I’m hooked!
What is the most original creation you have baked for a wedding?
all My cakes are bespoke and so original but over the years I’ve had some fun ones too such as the winter wedding cake full of sparkles but with the bride, groom and their dog on a sledge coming down the cake. The time I was asked for an all white affair with an offshore crane “fishing” for his other half who was sat lower down the cake. The couple met on a dating app called go fishing, she was a paramedic doc and he was a crane driver and they wanted this reflected in the cake. I don’t tend to make these styles often as I like to feature on the flowers and no longer model figures but they were certainly fun, interesting, though some times a little tricky, cakes to make!
Describe how you got into making wedding cakes.
I had been making birthday and occasion cakes for just over a year when my best friend as me to make her wedding cake for her. I was honoured she trusted me enough to make this happen for her. It was an absolute joy to make and I loved it, though being bridesmaid and cake maker did have its problems the cake did not and after that I was hooked.
What would be your show stopper in the Great British Bake Off?
I’m all about the tiers and live by the motto go big or go home so it’s would have to be something super tall and I love colour so it would have to have lots of colour and a ton of sugar flowers on it!
