I seem to have had a lifetime of cooking and creating cakes. At school my love of baking & cooking brought me top grades, and thereafter my life has been filled with cooking, baking and making cakes for my children. At 35 my neighbour saw my passion and invited me to nightschool for cake decorating... and I have never looked back since ! I attended Sheffield College, and have made cakes for a whole variety of parties, weddings, engagements, celebrations etc., and as for my passion... it just grew & grew almost uncontrollably.. I opened a couple of shops and held classes. I have travelled the country and over the years attended classes with international cake decorators. I keep up with all modern techniques & equipment so my workroom is where I find inspiration. I took classes for a number of years and many of my students have their own cake decorating company, and some have gone on to win awards and become International cake decorators. As for myself, I am always pushing myself forward and one thing I wanted to try and get onto was The Great British Bake Off, so to cut a long story short & after a number of interviews, a trip to London with a savoury and sweet, critiques and interviews, I was delighted that I got to the last 80 out of 13,000 applicants 2 years ago, and I can only imagine there will be more applying now with the huge popularity of the show. I try and source new recipes, new ideas & equipment so that I can bring the absolute best to you.
