The cake I made in May this year with spring flowers and a pair of foxes made from sugar. It was such an original idea from the bride herself - and I loved turning her dream into a reality.
Clean, stylish, pretty, neat, delicious
The lovely feedback I get from couples - many of whom come back for Christening/naming cakes, and who recommend me to other brides and grooms.
Be organised and book as early as you possibly can so that you get the suppliers that you want.
favours that reflect the personalities of the couple.
I always recommend a face to face consultation and tasting. It gives me an opportunity to find out what they like ... and also what the don't like (just as important!). I follow up with design ideas.
Understated with sugar flowers
I had to put goldfish all over a cake ... not really my thing! but it was original. I have had to make fossils and ammonites, foxes and am making bride and groom ducks for an upcoming wedding.
I made cakes for my children which then progressed to making a cake for my parent's anniversary. I replicated the flowers in my mother's bouquet (very badly ... but I was hooked!). It snowballed from there - so I went to catering college to get the basics right before I ran with making wedding cakes.
It would have to be something with gold leaf. As time is short it could not be too complicated a design so I would go for bold - something like blue and white stripes and dots, which are so fresh looking, with gold embellishments and some simple bright pink quick roses.
