What is your most memorable wedding?
I am so glad my mum taught me to sew and knit from a young age and I enjoy it, as it has come in use on many occasions. One springs to mind where I ended up with a blister on my finger trying to get a zip done up on a bridesmaids chiffon dress. The sizing wasn't correct, so her husband held the top together at the back, whilst I hooked a coat hanger through the zip and after a lot of effort we succeeded in pulling the zip up and as soon as the bridesmaid breathed normally - the zip broke open! the chauffeur was waiting outside already and the bride and her 3 other bridesmaids were still helping the bride into her dress. Thinking out of the box, we were at the brides mums house, so with the brides permission, I went through her mums wardrobe searching for a white/cream bolero cardigan for the bridesmaid to wear over her cobalt blue dress. The flowers were all blue and white and I thought, this will work if I can find one. I did and while her husband handed me safety pins, I crawled on the floor and under her dress to use safety pins to secure as much of the dress as I could and with the bolero on, the rest of the broken zip and gap in the dress was covered up and she could walk down the aisle as bridesmaid for her sister in laws wedding. It was extremely close and glad I could help avert a disaster as she was the maid of honour.

What about your business are you most proud of?
I pride myself in giving each and every bride a first class service. I'm proud to have built my business on my own and with a real love and passion for weddings, shown through not only my makeup and hair experience doing weddings but also my knowledge. From dresses through to shoes, hair accessories, bridal makeup. I feel honoured to be able to share my knowledge and experience when starting on a very personal and intimate journey with my bride, right up to their wedding day and beyond in many cases.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't sweat the small stuff!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A very generous and thoughtful bride put together her own basket of essentials in the ladies room for her guests. With a lovely thank you message. She provided spare pairs of tights, baby wipes, tooth paste, plasters, hand cream, deodorant, perfume, tissues, nail polish, nail glue and many more items, just in case anyone laddered their tights or broke a nail or need to freshen up! We all need a little something at weddings and she thought of them all. Wonderful idea :)
What do you love most about your job?
My brides, their family and friends. I love the chance to be creative and to listen to stories of proposals and what led them to the moment they decided to get married - I really am a romantic at heart :)
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Moisturise!! Exfoliate, hydrate daily. Keep hair regularly trimmed and treat hair with a little moisture love, an argan treatment for example, to ensure healthy glossy hair for your big day and glowing skin too.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
I always message my brides the night before just to reassure them that we are organised and I will be with them bright and early the next morning. Before I start any hair or makeup, I always ensure my bride has eaten and has a cup of tea/coffee/water to hand. I always advise my brides to try and get a play list together for the morning of their wedding. Not only does it set the tone for her day, it is a chance for her to relax and have a little fun whilst getting ready with her bridesmaids.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
Try and get some sleep, ensure you have someone who will keep you hydrated with water throughout the day which will not only keep you looking refreshed but stop you flagging and feeling tired as the day goes on. Oh & lip balm/stain on hand to keep you lips looking great and kissable! a good spritz of a water spray like Evian face mist or Mac prep+prime Fix plus is a definite bonus. A breath freshener or a sprig of fresh mint in a glass of water to freshen your breath. A foot spray for hot tired feet, especially during the summer. If you feel great, especially on the inside, this will radiate and ensure you stay looking great throughout your wedding day.
