What is your most memorable wedding?
My most memorable wedding was when the florist didn’t show up with the flowers for the wedding day. When the bride called her it turned out she was in Portugal on holiday, she accidentally got her dates mixed up. As you can imagine my bride was so upset so the bridal party and I pulled together and picked flowers from the garden and even knocked on the neighbours door to see if we could raid their garden to which they allowed!
It was lovely how everyone pulled together to make sure the bride had the wedding she dreamed of.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
I always aim to enhance my clients natural beauty and every little detail to me counts so the hair and make and up looks flawless.
But my style is very adaptable. My 2 favourite looks are the classic 1950’s Hollywood glam and the beach bronzed boho look.
What about your business are you most proud of?
I most proud of my service I give to people. My standards are high, I do my job because I love making people see how amazing they look. I constantly train to be the best I can be.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Make sure you are both involved in the planning together. Create a to do list for both of you so you can share the loads, after all you are in it together and it’s a lot for one person to organise!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I love it when the brides or groom bring along there pets to the wedding, they make the cutest photos!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
So I will discuss via zoom or a phone call your hair and Make Up ideas that you have. I would then ask that you email me the pictures of the required look and of yourself so I can make preparations for the trial.
The trial usually last about 2.5 hrs. Ideally you would have your dress as this point so we can style the hair and Make Up around it. In this time we can try 1-2 different looks that you have in mind. If you are happy then I would go ahead and take a redeemable deposit to secure the wedding day.
What do you love most about your job?
I love to make people feel a million dollars! It’s one of the best jobs in the world.
We see celebrities and have all these images of people looking glamorous and then when you have your hair and Make Up done professionally you realise that you could walk that red carpet to!
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Look after your skin!
Drink lots of water, have a simple skin care routine in place and get some early nights the week leading up to the wedding day.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
Give her plenty of champagne!
Haha
On a more professional note, I like to ensure that I have a schedule in place so everyone knows what time they need to be sat in the hair and Make Up chair.
I ensure the bride is second from last to be styled so she has time to get her dress on and take a moment before walking down the isle.
Then as I’m a very calm person myself, I believe my calm energy passes over to the bride.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
Your hair and Make Up is made to last so I would say don’t even think about it, just enjoy your day.
