What is your most memorable wedding?
My most memorable wedding has to be the first wedding i ever did, the bride was so lovely and made me feel at ease from the moment i arrived. With 5 bridesmaids it was quite a large wedding party for my first ever wedding but i soldiered through and each and everyone of them absolutely loved what i had done. The bride loved it so much she spotted me out for a walk the very next day and chased me down the street to say thank you with a big cuddle.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, radiant, picture perfect and beautiful,
What about your business are you most proud of?
I am so proud of how far i have come and of how much i have achieved in such a short time. In my first year of trading i completed 37 weddings which amazes me and makes me feel so grateful that so many ladies put their trust in me even though they knew i had only just started out.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
I am also currently planning my own wedding so have first hand experience of this, my top tip would be if you love a certain supplier don't leave it too late to book them - people get worried that other people will think its way too early but just do it because you will only be disappointed if they are not available on your date.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I once attended a wedding where the name place card on the table was a picture of the bride or groom with that person from the past, this was a lovely touch i thought and something to take home and stick on the wall!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Initially the booking process is done over email then at around 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding i will invite you to come for your make-up trial, this is usually around a 2 hour appointment starting with a full consultation first where we discuss the look you hope to achieve, your skincare routine etc then we do the trial and at the end discuss any changes you might want to try. Once you are fully happy with the look i will fill out a face chart which then comes with me on the morning of the wedding so that i know exactly what products i will be using. After the trial its just a case of waiting for the wedding day to arrive, i will contact you the night before to confirm all details and then i will turn up ready to start at our agreed time on the morning of the wedding.
What do you love most about your job?
I love seeing how happy people are once they see themselves for the first time with their hair and make-up done and in their dress. i feel so honored and privileged to be able to share those precious moments with my brides where they walk off to go and get married! its all so exciting..
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Do NOT change your skincare routine in the lead up to your wedding day, stick with your normal routine or you will risk having a major breakout and no one wants that on their wedding day.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
A lot of my brides say to me that the most relaxing part of the morning is when they are having their make up done i guess this is because they are sat still with their eyes closed and no one bothering them so i tend to just keep the chat to a minimum and just let them enjoy the peace for that hour they are sat with me.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
My top advice to help the make-up last is to keep a compact powder handy and just dab a small amount onto the t-zone and this will prevent the natural oils from breaking through. Another great tip is to note down the lipstick your make-up artists uses on you ate your trial and purchase the same one so that you can keep your lips topped up throughout the day.
