There are quite a few however probably the most memorable was a wedding at a local venue with the Bride and her Bridal Party of 3. I had taken along a bottle of prosecco as a gift to the bride and eager to get started one of the bridesmaids popped the cork and then left it in the top of the bottle...unbeknownst to all in the room. As the hairstylist was just plugging in her curling irons there was an almighty bang. We all immediately thought the hairstylist had blown her curling irons! Nope, at this precise moment the cork decided to pop out of the bottle fly accross the room, bounce off the wall and hit the hairstylist in the eye! It sounds worse than it was trust me. The hairstylist was fine, a little shocked but thankfully still able to see out of her eye! After the initial shock and concern we all had such a laugh about it and this was the start of a fantastic friendship and working relationship with this particular hairstylist. Members of the party still refer to this moment on the wedding day!

Two of my proudest moments were being selected as a Regional Finalist in The Wedding Industry Awards 2017 and 2018. A big part of being shortlisted was receiving feedback and scoring from my Brides for the past year so this meant so much to me!

At a recent Wedding I had the pleasure of meeting the Brides young son who happened to be a huge fan of marvel superheroes. To ensure he felt included in the Wedding their Wedding Cake was a beautiful traditonal tiered cake with a hidden twist. The rear of the cake was exposed to include marvel heroes on each tier. To top it off the Groom, Groomsmen and the son (who was page boy) were all wearing superhero t-shirts under their wedding attire and there was a lovely photo taken of them all in super hero stances tearing their shirts open.

When you contact me to enquire about my services I will provide a comprehensive quotation based on your requirements and detail the full booking process and following steps. When you are happy to proceed and your deposit has been paid your wedding date will be provisionally held. I will then arrange a telephone consultation with you to discuss details about your wedding and we will discuss the kind of look you envisage. I will offer guidance so don't worry if you aren't sure at this stage what exactly you would like. We will then schedule a trial date. At your trial I will run through a few looks with you, I will explain what I am doing along the way and the products I am using. I will also take pictures which will be sent to you following trials for you to refer to. This is great if you have tried two different eye makeup looks or colours and can't decide on which you prefer. There is no time limit on your trial so do ensure you make full use of it. Following your trial I allow 72 hours for you to decide if you are happy with the makeup, my services and also me! At this stage I would then require 50% of the wedding day cost to secure my services for your wedding date. The balance would then be due two weeks before your wedding. Prior to your wedding day I will organise a schedule for the day detailing my arrival time and the time you (and your party) will be ready and will send this to you via email. I will also contact you the week of your Wedding to reconfirm timings and check if there are any amendments. On the wedding day I will arrive 15 mins before the first appointment. I always factor in additional time for any possible delays and also allow additional time following completion to allow you to get into your dress and have any photos etc prior to leaving. I will remain on site until you are happy for me to leave!

When choosing your wedding makeup style always opt for soft, natural and most importantly, timeless. On your Wedding day you should look like you, but a perfected version. Your Wedding Day is not the time to try out a slick winged eyeliner and bold red lips if you dont wear much or any makeup usually. You want your partner to recognise you when you walk down the aisle after all.

You may or may not be aware that Northeners are renowned for being friendly and talkative! Well, as I am a Lancashire Lass I offer both of the above in abundance! Your Wedding day should be stress free and as memorable as possible for all the right reasons, and this is where I will help. I am not only responsible for ensuring you look your absolute best but also that schedules are maintained and you are as relaxed as possible. I often turn my hand to assisting lacing up dresses, dressing the room with the photographer, childminding (particularly when tired children with sticky fingers take a liking to the lovely white dress hanging up!) and have been known to be a first aider for a fainting bride. Just to top it all off, I do know how to tell a good joke or ten! You wont have time for anything other than being the pampered relaxed bride you should be.

Any of my past brides would know my favourite saying is 'Lady Fingers'. Let me explain! When the sniffles undoubtably start and tears begin welling in your eyes, dont go and give your nose a good ole trumpet blow and then rub your eyes with your bundle of hastily grabbed tissues! Dab! Put your finger in your tissue and dab the inner corner of your eye and under your lash line and again dont blow, but dab your nose! Regardless of how long lasting your makeup is or how well you have been set, no makeup can stand up to rigourous blowing and rubbing. One final tip for those of you that have oily or combination skin, grab a pack of blotting papers and pop it in yours or your bridesmaids handbag for later. After you've finished throwing down some moves on the dancefloor later that evening, grab a sheet and gently blot any excess oil on your face. This will remove any shine whilst keeping your makeup as fresh as when it was applied.
