What is your most memorable wedding?
Every Bride always has something that I remember about their Hair as it is so personal to each woman and often relates to their own individual stories and that is something I love about my job.
The most memorable Hair in terms of theme, would certainly be the Star Wars Wedding I did one year. Siobhian had some Star Wars inspired ideas for her hair and I was super excited. After trying out a modern mohawk like Rae and the classic Leia buns, we decided on a full plaited updo to nod to their theme but not make it look fancy dress. The perfect balance for a Wedding that was out of this world!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Relaxed, effortless, romantic, undone and never over styled
What about your business are you most proud of?
I am proud of all aspects of my business. Having a business that you have grown from the bottom up is the most rewarding feeling you can have.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
My number 1 planning tip for couples is to try to not put too much pressure on yourself to please others. Sometimes the reason you are getting married gets a little lost in all the planning chaos, so it is really good to step back and remind yourself why you are getting married. It is this little reminder that will allow you to prioritize your plans and helps you realize that you two are all that matters and that everyone who loves you will be happy for you no matter what you choose for your Wedding Day.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I love hidden decor, add something into your Wedding that only you and your partner knows about...it is such a lovely touch to make the day truly yours.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
It is unusual that I meet the other half, as normally my job is focused on the Bride or "Brides" for the big day. However when I do meet couples together at Wedding fairs, I do like to get the other half's opinion on things as it is nice to know their take on different hairstyles.
I suppose the word "process" is a bit formal and contrived for me. I like to keep conversation going to keep ideas flowing and to be open about opinions and feelings as it is so so important to trust and like your wedding suppliers!
What do you love most about your job?
Wow...there are so many aspects of my job to love. I would probably have to say the relationships I build with my brides, I truly am so happy for them on their day and many of them how now become friends of mine. Obviously the creative aspect is the another part of my job I love. I just like to make people happy.
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
My number 1 beauty tip would be to try to put less pressure on yourself to look a certain way. We have so many expectations for ourselves that sometimes it can become too much. It is a fact, you WILL look beautiful on your Wedding Day, so relax, you have professionals to look after you!
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
This is a funny one, as I find my brides are the calmest of the bunch, it's Mum and bridesmaids you have to watch! I like to keep everyone laughing and remind them to relax and ride the Wedding wave! The morning goes so quickly so it is super important to delegate and let people look after you.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
My advice would be simply, hire a pro!
