What is your most memorable wedding?
Ah! Definitely near the beginning of my career as a hair & make-up artist fore wedding industry, when my bride in London had ordered a red open topped double decker bus for all her family and friends who were traveling from the North of England without a clue where they were going! It turned up outside the house with a raucous of laughter and screams of excitement once the bride got in and joined them! It took them all the way to the church! Great way to turn up! And let me add this was also in the middle of December!
There have been so many memorable weddings throughout the years. But I guess this one stuck in my mind more as I had not been doing weddings that long having worked mainly in fashion (which can be just as crazy! Lol!)
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Hair & make-up tip:
research your artist carefully! Check where they have been trained and how long they have been doing it. Once you have found your artist make sure you collect as many examples of the styles (both hair & make up) that you like so the two of you can go through these on the day of your trial. Trials are extremely important! Please don't cut back on having a trial. It might be extra costs but at least it will be peace of mind. Trials not only help you to decide how you will look on your special day they can also show you how long a style will last or if you have developed an allergy to anything. Allergies can develope at any time. No matter if you've used a product for years. So also bear this in mind. No one wants to have their make-up done and then blow up like a balloon on their wedding day! This is why a trial is soooo important! Rather this happens on your trial than on the big day and then you can omit the product with the ingredients in that you reacted to! I will also advise that if this happens, stick with the same artist as he/she are more equipped to work out what caused the reaction and can usually offer an alternative product.
What do you love most about your job?
The wedding side of my job is my favorite area! It's the most happiest of all days and I have been a part of all my brides wedding memories - what an honour! 😉
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Please make sure all make up is thoroughly removed before having your make-up done!!!! Mascara can look like it's been removed however after a nights sleep you can often find more black under the eyes!
Hair: if wearing hair up please wash it the night before asa little dirt will help to hold the hair in the style a little better!
