Model Makeovers-Bridal Make Up Full Description
Hi I’m Jess and I have been in the industry for 18 years I have completed lots of training over the years including...DFMA makeup school and Southern School of Beauty where I have trained with some of the top makeup artists in the country. I offer a relaxed and calm trial, listening to what the bride wants and helping to create a beautiful look, you but at your best best! I believe in enhancing your natural beauty and use only cruelty free top brands to achieve this. At the trial I work with the brides own ideas and will create a beautiful long lasting look. I am proud that I have many recommendations from previous clients. Many clients return as previous bridesmaids for when it's their big day as a bride...This is the biggest compliment of all to me! I love my job and it’s a privilege to be part of a special wedding day morning. I use top brands including Charlotte Tilbury, Iconic London, Huda and more...So that brides have a great selection of the latest products for their special day.

Amazing work, professional and lovely lady
Jess was amazing on my wedding day, had a great trial before the wedding and Jess put me at ease. The results were beautiful, my make up stayed perfectly on all day even in 23 degree heat. Jess went above and beyond on my wedding day to help me with not just the make up but also calming me down and last minute bridal prep. I can not recommend highly enough, me and my bridesmaids looked amazing and Jess made everyone look so natural and was a pleasure to work with. If you want someone who is good at communicating, very reasonably priced, professional, caring and uses great product book with Jess!! Can’t recommend more!! Love love love your work xx (pictures to follow)

Christmas Party Make Up!
Jess did my make up for a Christmas party I was attending, I was so happy with it. It was very pretty & sparkly & lasted from lunchtime all the way through to the end of the night! Jess also gave me advice on skincare & recommended products that would suit my skin type. I can’t wait for another excuse to have my make up done, thank you Jess!

My A-level Project
For my Product Design A-level project I’m creating a makeup storage unit, where Jess has so kindly agreed to be my client to help me with the coursework. She’s helped me with all the client feedback and suggestions for how I could design and make my unit to best fit it’s use. It’s been amazing to actually get these tips and ideas from an actual makeup artist and has helped me massively throughout my coursework, thank you Jess! X

Frequently Asked Questions
(10)

What is your most memorable wedding?

So many! From the beach wedding on one of the hottest days in June to the 1950’s theme wedding in 2018. The rural farm wedding with 7 bridesmaids a bride and mother of the bride all having make-up completed by noon, quite honesty each wedding is so different it’s hard to specify a most memorable one as they all are in different ways! Each and every wedding is a privilege and being part of the 2020 intimate (covid restrictions) weddings was also a very special time as it was a sense of achievement that these brides managed to get married during difficult times.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Natural, pretty, timeless, glowing, modern

What about your business are you most proud of?

Recommendation to me always makes me feel so proud. To do a makeover on a bridesmaid then to be rebooked for her wedding a few years later means so much to me.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

When booking professionals for your wedding its best not to be guided too much by who is the cheapest as actually its better to book people that you are going to get on well with on your special day. So choose professionals that you feel you can trust and that you can connect with. People you would like to spend time with on your wedding day. This is especially important now that some weddings are becoming more intimate.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I once witnessed the best man and a friend turn up at a brides door playing a guitar and singing her her an Ed Sheeran song! It was so sweet! I’ve also seen some beautiful lockets with pictures of loved ones hidden away in bouquets which always brings a tear to everyone’s eyes.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I always meet the bride for a trial around 6/8 weeks before the big day. We will go through any ideas that the bride may have, look at pictures of her dress and discuss the colour theme or any special themes that may want to be incorporated into the make-up. At the trial we will take a before and after and the bride will leave with their finished look happy and excited for their big day ahead!

What do you love most about your job?

No wedding or bride is ever the same so i love the variety and being part of so many different special days. But the moment a bride looks in the mirror and says “wow” that’s the best feeling ever!

What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?

Look after your skin with a good cleansing routine as make-up is only as good as the skin underneath. I can offer tips on this at the trial!

How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?

I understand it's a nerve wracking day full of so many different emotions. I always take my time with the bride and try and try and provide a calm and quiet corner away from the madness of wedding prep if I can! Whilst having make-up done it's their time to just sit down and relax. People always comment how calm I am so I must be doing something right! I've been doing weddings for many years and have encountered many last minute panics or disasters such as dresses breaking, shoes not fitting and bridesmaids opening champagne bottles too close to their chins (causing major bruising!) So not much fazes me and if i can help with last min glitches i will happily do so.

What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?

I have a secret tip to help brides from getting too tearful walking down the aisle and that is to put their tongue in the roof of the mouth to stop the tears! There i have said it now so even if you don't choose me then remember that tip ;o)
