What is your most memorable wedding?
The most memorable wedding I would have seen is a couples first dance. The bride and groom were very into martial arts and ran their own studio. Instead of the traditional first dance they did a Taekwondo demonstration. Very memorable and special.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, glamorous, elegant, classic & flawless!
What about your business are you most proud of?
Building up and keeping my reputation high year after year by delivering exceptional makeup artistry and outstanding customer service. I find it so rewarding in making my clients feel beautiful and confident on their special day. I have been very fortunate to meet so many amazing clients from all over the world, who kindly left me excellent reviews and feedback.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Remember is you two who are getting married and no one else, so don’t let anyone cause you stress. Brides and grooms can be under so much pressure from family and friends that it's easy to get lost in with what everybody else would like to see at your special day. It is your day, so take your time to carefully plan the perfect day that you both want.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
The bride and groom designed and arranged with their own hands the guests tables' centrepiece with beautiful vases and tropical flowers, which made it personal.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Typically, my client would contact me with the wedding details either by phone or email. Upon confirming my availability, I send the client links to my website and FAQ. Once the booking is confirmed I require the deposit to secure the date/s. A client will often book a trail first. The trial includes a full consultation, a skin analysis and a bridal makeover with the opportunity to ask questions and trying out variations of different looks. From here, I take photographs of the makeup, and make a note of the full list of products used. Finally, I always like to contact my clients a week before their big day so that they know I'm prepared for their big day and that I will arrive promptly on time.
What do you love most about your job?
Everything! I'm obsessed! It's so rewarding to see a bride's face when she sees the finished look. Being a part of someone's biggest and one of the happiest days of their life is a real honour.
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
The perfect make up look starts with skincare! It's always skin first and makeup second. Seek advice from a professional regarding preparing your skin well in advance of your wedding. Make sure to eat lots of fruits and vegetables and keep hydrated. Water helps to purge toxins from the blood, which help keeps your skin glowing and clear.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
The night before your wedding it may take you longer to drift off than normal, so head to bed a little earlier and give yourself that time to relax. Make yourself a play-list to enjoy for the morning. Music has a wonderful role in emotional balance and makes you feel positive, excited and relaxed. It is very important to choose the suppliers carefully and make sure you have a great natural dynamic with them. Each are there to ensure you have a seamless and memorable day, taking the pressure away from you so you can enjoy your day in full. Most importantly, the morning shouldn’t be rushed, as it can be emotionally challenging with stresses easily heightened.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
Not to worry about their makeup, your make up will stay put all day and throughout the night. Relax, enjoy your day, have fun and smile, you'll look stunning!
