What is your most memorable wedding?
I don’t think I can narrow it down to one! I have been so fortunate to work on a wide variety of Weddings and meet such lovely people. One of my absolute favourite memories though is when I helped a lovely Bride called Lucy into her dress and Veil and she turned to me and said that I felt like I was her friend which was really sweet!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Soft, Glamorous, Pretty, Classic, Timeless.
What about your business are you most proud of?
I’m very proud of my kit and how I have built it up to a very high standard along the years. I really pride on having a clean and organised kit and I can’t count how many times people have said that to me!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
For the morning of the Wedding have a written list of times people should be ready for and what order they will be going in for Makeup and Hair. It saves a lot of time trying to work out who needs what next!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I worked on a wedding where I got a hand tied box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts and some Chocolate Truffles along with a handwritten thank you - it was such a gorgeous favour and much appreciated on the way home after working all morning.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I am usually contacted by the Bride to ask about availability via email or social media. Once someone has reached out to me I will send back a personalised quote depending on the amount in the Party/etc. If a Bride would like to book me I then send across my Contract and a Booking Fee will be taken.
I conduct trials around 2/3 months before the big day, I spend as much time needed perfecting your look you would like for your Wedding. Once we are both happy with everything I write down notes of what products were used for the trial so it can be replicated on your big day.
I will also ask for any additional details e.g. time you need to be ready for on the Wedding day so I know what time I will need to arrive.
Then the next time I see you will be on the day itself!
What do you love most about your job?
I love the very last 10 minutes I spend with a Bride before they leave to go to the Ceremony - when the dress is fitted and I'm doing those final touches. They just radiate with happiness and its really something to behold.
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Make sure your skin is in as good of a condition as you can get it - Makeup can cover imperfections but it can't cover texture! Make sure you exfoliate in the lead up to your Wedding.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
I make sure to arrive bright and early to set up my kit all ready for everyone so we start off on the right track. I then make sure to keep calm throughout the morning - I've been told numerous times how relaxed Brides become when they sit in my chair which I am very proud about.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
Buy a pressed powder which includes a sponge or puff, then you can touch up shine as the day goes on. Especially after kissing/hugging people!
