What is your most memorable wedding?
A beautiful wedding at Limepark, so many individual and unique touches.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Professional, fun, creative, friendly and relaxed
What about your business are you most proud of?
We were all ecstatic winning two awards in our first year of business particularly winning Northern Ireland Hair and Make Up Salon of the Year 2017 at the wedding awards as we were against so many salons. We hadn't expected to win the County Antrim award let alone the whole of Northern Ireland so it was a real achievement for the whole team and it was great to have everyone's hard work recognised and praised.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Just stay calm and enjoy planning your wedding, it should be an enjoyable experience and to this day I have never came across anyone who didn't love their wedding day.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I saw M & M sweets at a wedding with the bride and grooms faces on some, the wedding date on some and their names on some so I thought that was a lovely keepsake.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Normally it's the bride who we have most dealings with and the bridesmaids. Most brides book a trial, come in and some girls bring pictures of styles of hair and make up they like and then they have a consultation about what they are wanting for the day. After the trial normally the bride books hair, make up and the beauty treatments for herself and the bridesmaids, though some bridesmaids like to come in for trials too. Every bride is different in what she wants and we work hard to make sure everyone is catered for and looks their best. We have cut a few grooms hairs but that's normally a few days before the wedding, one groom came into the salon the day of his wedding and had his hair washed but that worked out grand as the girls where on site at the wedding venue sorting out the bridal party.
What do you love most about your job?
I love making people feel good about themselves and chatting away and getting to know everyone.
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
I think happiest brides are the most beautiful so keep a smile on your face, though most brides naturally do on their wedding day.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
I find brides are either extremely calm or slightly stressed. Weddings are very stressful especially making sure everything is pulled together and everyone is where they are meant to be etc normally I just chat away to the bride, get her a drink and if there is anything going wrong from the dress not sitting right or stuff needing brought in from the car, I try to help.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
Again I would say keep a smile on your face, try not to cry though waterproof mascara is advisable (we offer LVL lashes which look amazing and mascara isn't needed for the majority of brides) and most of all just relax and enjoy what should be one of the most important days of your life.
