What is your most memorable wedding?
A couple got married as the bride had stage four cancer and they wanted to be married as soon as possible. They were on a very tight budget as they didn’t have time to save so I did her makeup for a bottle of lucozade and a dairy milk bar. It was by far my favourite wedding, so emotional and I was so honoured to be part of their big day.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Elegant, flawless, natural, personal, tailored
What about your business are you most proud of?
I’m proud that I’ve made this business possible myself. I’ve put all my effort into making it take off.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Think about yourselves! Don’t worry about trying to please everyone because at the end of the day, it’s your big day not theirs!! So long as you’re happy that’s all that matters!!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I meet the couple first and discuss what they’re wanting (usually the bride!!) I’ll do a trial and see if she’s happy with the finished look. If not we’ll tweak and change until it’s 100% perfect. I’ll get plenty of pictures of the look so we can recreate it perfectly for the big day.
What do you love most about your job?
I love love!! Weddings are my favourite thing and there’s something really fulfilling about watching the big day come together. I love making people look and feel amazing ready for their day.
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Keep lipstick and some powder close by at all times!! It’s a stressful day and EVERYONE will want a picture of you! Keep these handy and you can nip to the loo for a quick top up before more people come at you with their phones out!!
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
Talk to her! I ask questions, tell her fun stories and don’t put any pressure on it. I also keep calm myself, If I’m stressing about getting things done it’ll stress her out too!!
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
Try not to touch your face and keep lipstick and powder handy (If you can!!) get your mum, gran, great uncle Bob, whoever you can to keep hold of these things for you!
