What is your most memorable wedding?
I have so many stories it's hard to pick just one! I loved working on 'Don't tell the Bride' a few years back and I had a wonderful VIP wedding package where the bride got changed half way through and had a completely different look - with the most amazing gospel choir and swing band. I stayed right through the reception to beautify the evening guests and loved every minute! It's so fab to love your job!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Creative, versatile, natural, flawless, bespoke!
What about your business are you most proud of?
I'm really proud of my fab team who have grown over the past 20 years and now we travel all over the UK and internationally for destination weddings! We have several industry awards including best hair& makeup Service for the Wedding Industry Experts, and best makeup artist and best bridal hair stylist in the Wedding Industry Awards!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Make use of experienced professionals where you can. Don't try to cut corners which will stress you out. Many people in the industry can really help things to run smoothly and stress free for you as we've seen and done it all!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I love to see family members who have passed away included in the wedding, in brooches in the bouquet, framed pictures - I just love it and can see how much it means to the bride.
It also love alternative guest books such as fingerprint 'trees' and wooden love hearts to sign so the happy couple can display them afterwards!
Oh and I love indoor sparklers during the first dance too!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Following the initial contact where we ask the bride to give us a 'shopping list' of who wants what and where we would need to come, we then email a bespoke quote and organise for a small deposit to hold the date.
The exciting bit comes next when the bride needs to start setting up a Pinterest board of ideas or screen shotting and sending us some images ready for the trial!
Many brides like to tie in their trial with their hen party so we have teamed up with a great team of creatives in Liverpool City Centre to offer hen party packages to start things off in style! We provide full hair and makeup for everyone, afternoon tea, choice of burlesque masterclass or hen flashmob choreography and a group photoshoot before the hens hit the town!
On the day we arrive in plenty of time and get to work on the bridal party, de stressing and calming as we go, and keeping the morning running efficiently and enjoyably without the bride even knowing there's a tight schedule!
We make sure there is plenty of time for those finishing touches, pictures and last minute toast by sending off bridesmaids and mums to get changed in plenty of time and then we help the bride into her dress (corsets are my speciality!) before completing all of the finishing touches just in time for you to walk out of the door and into your new life as a wife!
What do you love most about your job?
I just love being priveliged enough to be at so many wedding mornings, such a personal intimate moment with close friends and family and we get to be there!
It's lovely to be able to take a nervous bride with no makeup and unbrushed hair and transform her into her most beautiful version of herself. To see that sparkle in her eyes when she sees herself in her dress, all done up is just wonderful.
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Water! Mega hydration during the run up to the wedding as well as a good skincare routine morning and night will work wonders for getting skin glowing, hair shiny and banishing dark circles!
Best possible canvas and then you can let us do the rest!
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
I think that's one of our special skills and what makes us so popular. We have a knack of being a really calming influence and have so much experience we have seen most issues that arise and can handle them!
We also plan the morning so that everything flows smoothly and calmly so that the bride isn't ready with too much time to sit and think and stress, nor too little time so things are manic!
We make sure everyone is kept occupied and ready just in time to have last minute pictures and a little toast before walking out of the door.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
Well that's our job! As far as we're concerned you should look exactly the same at the end of the night as when we left you!
We do have an 'SOS Kit' which a lot of brides like to buy which contains a mini hair spray and some spare pins just in case, a bridal lip gloss and blotting powder and some blister plasters and mints!
It's more like a comfort blanket really so you know you have all bases covered!
