I went to Bordeaux in France to do a party of 9! It was a very early start and was a very busy day doing hair and makeup for each girl by myself...but!! There was the most amazing energy the whole morning, everyone was laughing and having fun and the girls were all gorgeous, it was a very special day to be a part of.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Take time to enjoy the little things when planning, it goes so quickly and before you know it it's all over. Relax and enjoy the adventure!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
One bride had sewn some material into the underside of her dress that was part of her mums dress she had picked out to wear on the wedding day, but who had unfortunately passed away only months before the wedding.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I like to meet the bride at least a couple of months before the big (groom isn't normally involved with this part of the wedding planning). We sit down together and discuss the theme/colours/style of the wedding and talk about how to best suit the hair and makeup to work with these things. We also talk about the dress and accessories in making this decision as well. After discussing this as well as the looks for the rest of the bridal party I would sit down and do a trial run on the chosen look. When finished the bride gets the chance to tweak anything she's not happy with. I will take some photos to document what we achieve so that i can remember the finished look on the day.
I then don't see the bride until the day of the wedding unless she chooses to do a second trial.
On the wedding day I contribute to keeping the bridal party calm and relaxed and organized, making sure everyone is ready on time. I usually like to stay right until the end when it's time to leave to go to the ceremony, just in case there are any final tweaks to do before you all walk down the aisle.
What do you love most about your job?
I love getting to be part of this special day for people, there's a real sense of love and happiness around everyone and I get to be involved in that.
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Drink plenty of water in the lead up to the wedding to keep it hydrated and clear of blemishes.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
The morning of the wedding can be a very busy and chaotic time for the bride, so I like to keep her slightly aside from everyone whilst I do her hair and makeup. I like to talk to her about lots of things that aren't to do with the wedding. If she needs reassuring then that is what I do, if she needs quiet time, that is what I give her. I am good at reading the mood of each of my brides and focus my energy on making sure to be there for her no matter what.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
I would always suggest having a blotting powder with them, just in case they get tend to get shiny when warm and anxious. I would also suggest they keep a lipgloss with them to reapply after meals or before photos just in case! Great things to get your bridesmaids to look after! But the idea behind my hair and makeup is that you won't have to worry about it!
