What is your most memorable wedding?
Each of my weddings are memorable for different reasons. Its so much fun being a part of the morning process surrounded by excitable energy. One that really stands out is a bridal group of 12 all singing disney songs at the top of their voices while getting ready (and yes I did join in).
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
clean, glowing, relaxed, elegant, natural
What about your business are you most proud of?
Majority of my brides and grooms are recommendations from previous couples. I love that my couples have felt confident in my work to recommend me to their friends and family for their special days.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Have multiple budgets. Your ideal budget, your comfortable, and your stretch budget which you absolutely cannot pass. Aim for the ideal, but having the comfortable and stretch will help you question how much specific items mean to you for your big day.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A personal favourite will always be a loved one singing the first dance song. I've seen it at a few weddings I've attended and it always makes it so much more emotional.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Once quoted and confirmed we will book a trial so we can create the style ahead of your wedding day, ensuring the big day goes smoothly. I'll send you a timeline for hair and makeup in the morning with schedules including your full bridal party and have you all ready an hour before you need to leave. Leaving plenty of time for dressing and photos without rushing. I'll also leave you with products needed for touchups throughout the day.
What do you love most about your job?
Being a part of such a special day for each of my couples. My job is not only to make people feel beautiful but also to help keep energies in the morning positive and calm. As exciting as wedding mornings are they can be stressful, as your HMUA, I make sure you focus on the excitement and feeling confident on your big day.
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
nail your skincare asap. Great skin makes for great makeup! If you can work with someone to build a secure skincare routine (and I am happy to advise) and then stick to it for the months before your wedding you will notice a huge benefit to how your makeup sits and lasts.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
Having a trial will help you feel calm about the hair and makeup, but in terms of everything else we just chat away. Keep your mind on the positive and the excitement.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
Try not to touch your face and hair too much (practise now!) And ask your bridemaids to be on the lookout for when you need touch ups etc. I provide products so you can touch up throughout the day with the right colours to keep you looking fresh all day.
