What is your most memorable wedding?
Currently my most memorable wedding has to be my most recent. My last wedding before lockdown was on 14th March and my first wedding back was 20th August. I remember doing my brides makeup thinking, there is nothing more I love than this. It made me feel like I fell back in love with my job all over again and it will be a wedding I never forget knowing it was my first one back after a tough 5 months not being able to work.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Soft but glam, Bridal, Elegant and Modern.
What about your business are you most proud of?
I am proud of how much my business has grown since 2017. How it has evolved into the bridal industry. I create everything myself such as my website, invoices, accounts, booking forms etc. I feel this keeps my business personal to me and hope this also comes across to my brides.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
My number one tip is to trial everything! If you are planning something you haven't tried, done or used before you must trial it or re visit until you are 100%. It really helps to keep you calm and reassured that everything you want is and will be perfect on the big day.
What do you love most about your job?
I personally love just how much my job, being a makeup artist, can really change how someone carries themselves on the wedding day. To feel the most confident they have ever felt or the most glam and bridal they have ever felt really is what I love about what I do. I thoroughly enjoy making others feel like the best version of themselves on such a special day.
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Moisturise, Moisturise.... Moisturise! From dry to oily skin moisturiser is your best friend! The absolute key to perfect makeup. Good makeup starts with good skin. Of course makeup artists can work some magic but it all comes down to how you look after your own skin. It is also great to use this advice prior, during and post wedding to keep your skin in the best condition and of course as we all would love... keep your skin youthful! Hydrated skin is happy skin!
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
I feel my calm personality does bring a calm presence to the wedding day. I do like to get the bride sitting in my chair ready for makeup with minimal people around, so they can have 1-1 time with me and just relax and enjoy having the makeup done. This just removes them from any overwhelming situations to allow them to have a breather but also coming out looking like the glam bride they deserve to be!
I also make sure there is plenty of time for all makeups and top ups to be carried out! I am usually the first to arrive and the last to leave to ensure everything runs smoothly. Nothing is too much, I often find myself helping bridesmaids into their dresses, cutting labels, prepping flowers etc.
