First of all, I really hate to leave a negative review. I’m not a hard person to please, and I’ve gave it quite a few weeks now but I feel it’s only right.
I contacted Charlotte a year in advance. Her work looked amazing and her reviews looked good, so I booked her for my Roman Baths sunrise ceremony for hair and makeup.
I had my first trial two weeks before my wedding. The trial went well, apart from a few minor requests of shorter lash strips and a less is more approach with foundation. I have Italian genetics so I am quite olive in skin tone. I also didn’t want to to look too ‘done’. I was quite a laid back bride, and never once made a big fuss about anything, I just kindly asked Charlotte for less foundation and less bronzer. More of a dewy look.
Charlotte appreciated my concerns (I think). The morning of my ceremony, Charlotte kindly came to my accommodation very early. I was very appreciative of her for accommodating my wedding Makeup so early. Charlotte came to my bridal accommodation and things were okay until I sat down and she had started my hair. At this point she said it was ‘too early to talk’ which I found really rude. This was my wedding day and I felt If I was too early too talk then maybe this isn’t the job for her.
My makeup on the day looked quite bad on my photos and I looked really orange which was quite upsetting. Again, my skin tone is olive and it did not match at all. It was disappointing. I also had far too much foundation on. It would easily transfer onto fingers if you touched your face. It was really heavy and thick.
I thought I’d be the positive person and still thank Charlotte for her time with makeup and hair via email roughly 4 weeks ago, and yet I still have not had a reply from that email, but Charlotte had the audacity to share my pictures from my photographers instagram but pay no customer service to the brides emails of thanks. I think charlotte is very driven for her own credit on Instagram but pays no attention to her back office which is ultimately her poor customer service. I wouldn’t rate my experience or service, especially when a bride paid over a £400 fee for makeup and hair. But I did feel appreciative of the early start.
