Best Kids Wedding Photos of 2022

Browse our favourite kids wedding photos for this year’s Wedding Photography Awards. Children often aren’t aware of the camera, so photos can capture their genuine reactions and emotions, not to mention those fun and silly moments that adults might overthink.

The story behind this photo: “I loved the way it looked like the boys were trying to trick the barman into thinking they were older than they were.”

Why we chose this photo as our overall winner: This is such a beautifully captured and heart-warming kids’ shot. We love the composition, with the two boys standing on stools behind the bar in their smart suits, their backs to us, trying to look grown-up and sophisticated. The barman’s knowing expression adds to the effect. The lighting adds a mature touch, at odds with the presence of the children, which makes the scene all the more humorous and memorable.

The story behind this photo: “During the downtime, before the speeches but when the little ones had finished dessert they all took to the floor to play with the balloon decorations which had been positioned around the room. Once they had gathered them up, the older kids had wrestled them from the youngsters and were beating each other with them. I love this photo, of the youngest flower girl trying her best to convince the young bridesmaids to give her back her balloon. Children at weddings always have their own dramas that if you stop to watch for, create beautiful, emotionally candids.”

Why we shortlisted this photo: The quiet intensity of the youngest flower girl’s expression is beautifully captured. We also love the storytelling behind this photo.
