Situated on the fertile slopes of the Simonsberg mountain range in Stellenbosch, Morgenhof Wine estate crafts its wine from the ground up. With rich winemaking history as the stepping-stone to the estate, our winemaker, who has been rated as one of the best winemasters in the world, Andries de Klerk, has been at the helm creating the award-winning wines we have available. At Morgenhof, our vineyards are farmed using the “dry-land” approach. While this results in smaller volume yields in comparison to others, it ensures the superior concentration of flavour in our fruits. Giving our wines that iconic, true to terroir characteristic, with the estate playing host to variety of soil types, mostly granite derivatives such as Tukulu and Glenrosa. With altitudes ranging from 65m to 410m above sea level, by planting the same range of cultivars on different sites of the estate we can harness the diverse characteristics of the terroir and elevate the flavour complexities within our wines.
