Full Description
The Keeper and the Dell is a wonderfully secluded, outdoor wedding venue in Norfolk. A beautiful collective of a traditional canvas marquee in a pretty woodland dell, an eighteenth century Gamekeeper's barn, camping gardens, firepit and a little wood cabin ~ making it the most perfectly romantic of places to host a unique Norfolk wedding. Take your Vows in any of our beautiful outdoor spaces, such as the Dell, the Birch Garden or on the Terrace, completing the service either in our Outdoor Ceremony Den or in the Barn. The Keeper and the Dell is nestled below the trees of a woodland estate, in private grounds where you can happily enjoy your celebration with your close friends & family, just the way you always dreamed. Bookings are made with exclusive use over a weekend, for up to 100 guests ~ giving you space and time to make the most of this delightful venue to create your own wedding in the style you love. Whether it be simply rustic, classic chic, bohemian hip or vintage homemade ~ the possibilities are delightfully endless. Surrounded by a medieval grove, The Keeper and the Dell offers the Bride & Groom and their guests a pretty, romantic venue with the wonderful chance to celebrate & sleep under the stars, all within a beautiful country setting. We help with all your planning, offer on the day coordinating, can introduce you to great local vendors, but we don't tie you to any particular suppliers and better still no table corkage fees.

We can highly recommend it, it won’t disappoint!
We had our wedding at The Keeper and the Dell in July 2019. From the moment we first visited the venue, we were both completely hooked and knew we had to get married there. The venue is surrounded by beautiful trees and greenery with wild flowers and twinkling lighting at night. We loved the unusual dell area with the marquee at the base of a grassy stepped type amphitheatre (where our guests sat for the ceremony) and the vintage barn full of quirky odds and ends and colourful decor (which reminded us both of our own house and why we felt so at home there). We also loved that The Keeper and the Dell had lots of variety in the setting with different areas to enjoy so you weren’t just confined to one marquee/hall for the day. We just immediately felt relaxed and comfortable there. Lolly and Gemma who helped coordinate our wedding from start to finish were so helpful and organised, sending detailed emails and keeping us fully in the loop. As well as making suggestions for vendors and helping with everything from timings to drink suggestions. As well as our initial visit (it looked just like the pictures but better!) we had two additional site visits which were really helpful but all the information discussed was always forwarded to us in a comprehensive email and Lolly was always on hand to answer any questions (and we had a few!) so they mostly just gave us more opportunities to enjoy the venue. However, if site visits aren’t possible right now I imagine it would just make it even more exciting turning up there on the day! We loved the flexibility The Keeper and the Dell provided (bringing our own drinks, adding our own decor and choosing our own music) but because it is such a beautiful place with so much character and charm we really didn’t have to do much (which was great as we had a 7month old at the time!) and you could easily just add some colourful flowers, hire some of the lovely extras the venue offer and it would look great. All our guests commented on what a lovely setting it was and how helpful all the staff on the day were. If you have seen photos of The Keeper and the Dell and are thinking of getting married there, we can highly recommend it, it won’t disappoint! We are just sad we can’t do it all over again! Just Imagine getting married at a wonderful venue!
We simply can not recommend the Keeper and the Dell highly enough. Just Imagine getting married at a wonderful venue! It is so different to the halls you often see. It offered the most beautiful back drop for our photos, our guests loved it almost as much as we did and visually, no other venue in Norfolk comes close. The Keeper and the dell is just so idyllic. Visually it’s perfect, but it was the attention to detail from Lolly and her amazing staff that really made us feel at ease and left us to simply enjoy our perfect day. A&J

A Perfect Wedding
We’ve just been reflecting on our wedding and wanted to say a huge thank you to you for all your hard work and support planning our wedding and making sure things ran smoothly on the day. It really was perfect and we wish we could do it all again. Please pass on our thanks to the venue helpers also. They were lovely and very helpful throughout the day and evening. We will treasure the day always and want to thank you for letting us use your gorgeous grounds to celebrate it - we received lots of compliments about how lovely the venue was!

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

All of our weddings have been so special & individual in their own way, we really couldn't choose a best.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

K.I.S.S. ~ Keep It Simple, Stupid!

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

All the little DIY touches that Brides or their friends & family have made are very sweet. I also love when they bring old family photos, of parents & grandparents weddings etc, to pop around the Barn, to really make it feel like their own personal space for the weekend.

Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.

Eclectic, Rustic, Unique, Bohemian, Romantic

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

The whole venue is filled with the perfect spots for photos!

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

yes, but we don't divulge!

What’s your favourite canapé?

For those on a budget, bowls of popcorn work well around 'Prosecco & Photos' time, but if you can push the boat out a little further, it's also nice to keep to Norfolk Vendors who can supply local grown produce, particularly amazing local shellfish for all your canapes & nibbles.

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

We love it when the Street Food Trucks rock up, and one of the most popular is the Crepe Van.

What is your venue's most unique feature?

It's an idyllic location, the Dell, the 18th century worker's barn, the pretty cabin & vintage caravan, the bohemian off beat touches ~ the list goes on! Also our individual care & expertise in helping couples create their Day.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

We have been in Conde Nast's Brides Magazine's Top 100 Venue Guide for four years in a row, but we are most proud of the personal feeling of truly connecting with our couples and understanding their needs & wishes.
