The most incredible venue and team!The most incredible venue and team!
I dont even know where to begin reviewing The Potbelly, from the moment we saw the venue on Bridebook I knew we had to view it, we viewed it and instantly feel in love with the building the charm and the character! We met Philip and sat and had a coffee and a chat and I knew this was our place! The buildings history and heritage is a huge part of the charm of this building and the team especially Philip are very proud and shared the 300 year history with us which we made sure to highlight in our wedding invites so our guests shared the knowledge! Fast foward to Thursday 25th September 2025 and we had our entire wedding ceremony and reception with The Potbelly. Not only did they meet our expectations they by far exceeded them. Every single little detail was there and more. The venue was decorated to perfection with all the little details and decorations I had supplied. The downstairs area became a rest haven for a cup of tea and coffee with traybakes served. The stunning outdoor area with outdoor bar, covered seating and large grass area ensured our guests enjoyed some beers and bubbles and elder flower juice and created a safe place for the adults to mingle and talk whilst the children where able to run about and burn of energy on the large enclosed grass area ensuring everyone was relaxed. Canapés where in no short supply and passed around all our guests in abundance keeping hunger at bay until our meal! Then we move onto the meal the team had been busy transforming our ceremony space into our dinning space again the attention to detail was beautiful! The service was exceptional with the entire room of 70+ guests each being served their own choice of starter main and dessert taking 2-3 minutes from the first plate served to the last plate served! Very impressive! And where do I even start on the food! Oh wow it was amazing! Each and every guest commented on the incredible food the size of portions and the amazing flavours. Each mouthful of meat melted in the mouth!! Philip and his entire team at The Potbelly went above and beyond for my Husband and I and each of our guests! They are an amazing team and should be very proud of the service they provide (not only at our wedding but also when we visited for dinner service) The Potbelly will always hold a very special place in our hearts now and I know we will be repeat customers for life enjoying many of meals in the warmth and friendliness of Philip, his team and the very special Potbelly building. We recently had our wedding reception at the Pot Belly in with around 60 guests, and it was incredible. From the moment we first began planning a year ago, Philip and the team put us completely at ease. The friendly staff made the whole planning process so relaxed and stress-free, with great communication throughout. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful - the decor inside is stunning and has such a lovely atmosphere. The outside area is gorgeous too, perfect for photos and drinks with guests. The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish, and our guests are still talking about it weeks later. We had some people with different dietary needs and allergies, and they sorted everything out - no problem at all. On the day itself, Philip and the team were just fantastic. They were so on top of everything throughout the day, really looked after us, and made sure we didn't have to worry about a thing. What really impressed us was how attentive they were to all our guests as well - everyone felt so well looked after. This was absolutely the best day ever made all the more special by how relaxed the venue was, how attentive the staff were and how amazing the food was. I really can’t recommend the Pot Belly enough. Philip was great throughout the entire booking and planning process and so accommodating for everything we needed, he went above and beyond to help us. Perfect Day Perfect Day
After deciding to plan a wedding with not a lot of notice, Philip was absolutely amazing every step of the way. Nothing was too much hassle for him and he made us feel at ease throughout. The wedding day could not have went better, with such a beautiful intimate venue. The food was amazing, with compliments from many guests and the staff could not have been more attentive. We would definitely recommend the pot belly for anyone looking a smaller, more personal wedding experience. If you are looking for somewhere that hosts smaller more intimate weddings then this is the place to have it. From the day we meet Phillip and looked around the pot belly we fell in love it was just perfect the restaurant with the wooden beams, the outside area with the picnic benches and the decor was beautiful. Phillip was amazing throughout he knew exactly what we wanted and we felt so at ease. Our wedding day was even better than we imagined, it was completely stress free everything was perfect. The food was amazing all of out guests said it was the nicest food they ever had at a wedding, the staff were also amazing they done a great job. We did not want the day to end and wish we could do it all again. Philip & his team were amazing, from the very first day of enquiry to the last guest who left on our wedding day. Nothing was a problem, Philip knew what we needed before we even did. The team set up the room exactly how I imagined. It was beautiful and perfect. Food was fabulous, with no issues and all dietary needs were perfect. I would not change a thing from our amazing day. The Pot Belly and team excelled themselves and made the day easy, relaxing and completely stress free. We will always be thankful for everything they did for us and made our day so special. The best day ever The best day ever
After our original date for our wedding was postponed last year due to Covid my husband and I contacted Philip at The Pot Belly to book our wedding reception. Yes our original wedding date was planned for Portugal but our wedding day at The Pot Belly was everything we had imagined & more!! In our eyes we had the most perfect day & so did our guests! The majority of our guests said the staff, service & setting was everything. They would highly recommend The Pot Belly for a wedding over a hotel any day & we couldn’t agree more! Had a small wedding as we wanted our closest friends to share our special day…. We picked the pot belly as we already knew their food was amazing and we love the quirky barn like look. Could not have asked for more from booking to our day.. All our guests said it the best wedding ever… Philip and Brian are amazing and really looked after our guests which was very important to us.
