At High House we ensure there are no hidden costs for couples when booking their wedding here by having 'extras' they need to add to make their day perfect. Our venue hire fee is inclusive of the following:
Use of Essex Barn or Thatched Gazebo for your civil wedding ceremony
Bridal Dressing Room from 9am until the time of your wedding ceremony
Marquee for wedding breakfast and evening reception
Brides cottage for the night of your wedding, inclusive of continental breakfast provisions
Tables and chairs for up to 120 guests
Cake table and knife
Optional use of lawn games, wishing well for cards and sweet cart
Table plan easel
Dance floor, sound system and stage in marquee
Facility for dance floor reveal in marquee
Private bar facilities in marquee
Stable bar open for reception drinks
Staff for beverage service throughout day and bar service in evening
DJ for your evening celebrations – 19:00 to 23:30 (music selections to couples requests)
Experienced wedding co-ordinator to assist you in the planning prior to and for the duration of your special day

High House Weddings Full Description
Get ready for your wedding day in the venues luxury Dressing Room, an oak-framed orangery with views of the pool and landscaped gardens. Enjoy getting ready with comfy sofas, dressing tables, the perfect natural lighting, and private bathrooms.
For your ceremony, you have the choice of having your ceremony indoors in the Essex barn or you can have a beautiful outdoor ceremony under a charming gazebo surrounded by the stunning grounds of High House.
At High House, they have gorgeous spaces in the six-acres of grounds for your wedding photographs. Take stunning wedding photos in the English gardens, on the Monet style bridge and in the neighbouring vineyards.
For your wedding breakfast, they have a beautiful marquee that offers breathtaking views of the lake, especially at sunset. Another very special space that this venue offers is a secret dance floor reveal, you are behind the curtain and on the DJs cue you are revealed to your guests.
In spring 2024, the venue are introducing the Farmhouse accommodation with 11 ensuite bedrooms, a lounge, and a kitchen. Newlyweds can enjoy the Couples Retreat in the secret garden, with a luxurious bedroom, bath, lounge, and kitchenette.
Coming for 2025, we are proud to reveal our plans for our brand new orangery to replace the existing marquee at High House.

When booking taxis to High House please ensure that the booking location is High House Farm Wedding Venue. This is to ensure that our local neighbours are not disturbed when taxis are locating the venue.
Our location is marked in the map below by the red marker. Unfortunately Google Maps and Sat Nav can be unclear as to our exact location so please ask taxis to look out for our entrance rather than relying on Sat Nav devices. Please also ensure that taxis are booked in advance of your visit to High House, as local availability is very limited at last minute.

Think about what you want for your day and not what you 'think' you should have. We really encourage our couples to think about what they love and enjoy and make those things part of their day.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
One of our brides had sadly lost her dad not long before her wedding day. She wanted to have something here that would remind her of her dad throughout the day, he loved fishing so she set up a chair and fishing rod next to our pond which overlooks our reception drinks space. It was a lovely touch to remember her dad.

Where’s the best photo spot at High House Weddings?
We love the vineyard, it's a favourite for our couples. We also have our weeping willow tree in front of our of beautiful Monet inspired bridge. Photographers are always mentioning how beautiful our landscape is and how they are spoilt for choice for photo opportunities!

A favourite for guests seems to be the lamb & coriander meatball with plum marmalade.

Our dance floor reveal! The whole dance floor area is hidden from your guests until the first dance begins, a truly unique feature which couples and guests love.
