Full Description
Where grandeur feels at home. Crayke Manor is a Jacobean Manor House, built in 1620 and considered to be one of the most beautiful homes in North Yorkshire. Sitting in its own 17 x meadowy acres, you'll have an amazing sense of privacy and privilege when staying here. The estate includes a Dutch covered barn, perfect for weddings and parties. We've hosted many weddings and large social events in the relatively short time it has been available for hire. Guests have enjoyed tailoring the occasion to suit their tastes; dressing-up the covered barn, erecting marquees in the meadows, even hosting silent discos on the lawns. We have a wedding license, which allows you to choose from holding your wedding service in the wonderful gardens or in any of the 5 x covered areas on the estate and in the Manor itself. Crayke Manor is a DIY venue. The Barn offers the perfect blank canvas for you to create the wedding exactly how you dreamed it to be. We charge no corkage nor insist on any preferred suppliers. However, we can happily recommend great local suppliers and wedding planners if and when needed. We can accommodate 32 x sleeping guests if the two additional cottages on site are included.

Personal Message from the Manager

Name of Wedding Contact: Justin Kent
Thanks for showing interest in Crayke Manor as a possible wedding venue. The one word people most often use to describe Crayke Manor when they visit is 'amazing'! I look forward to possibly being able to show you round the Manor and Grounds and answering any questions you may have. Best wishes and happy exploring, Justin

The most stunning wedding venue.
We got married at Crayke Manor in May this year and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The grounds are just stunning, and the house itself is clean, comfortable, spotless and comfortably slept 18 of us. It is the perfect place for a getaway with friends or a DIY wedding. The barn can be transformed in any way you like using your own suppliers, and you have the choice of getting married in the barn or outside on the lawn. Sharon was super helpful, made the whole thing feel very relaxed and responded to our queries very quickly, as did Justin

Best to put Crayke Manor into your satnav. It'll take you almost there! Pass through the village of Crayke. 1/2 mile out, turn left opposite Crayke Plant Nursery, up a single cul-de-sac lane and the entrance is on your left.

FAQ
(10)

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

Because every Couple gets the chance to express themselves entirely as they wish, from the catering to the band, I love the fact every one of the weddings held at Crayke Manor is so idiosyncratic and personal to the Couple I get to know

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

It's you two getting married - everyone else is just there to celebrate it with you. So, make sure you do what YOU want to do!

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

There are so many! I know one Bride to be, who spent two years collecting rose petals from her Mum's garden to dry them and use them as confetti! Love the dedication and passion :)

Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.

Amazing, spectacular, intimate,

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

Standing on the little bridge that connects the lawns to the meadows, looking back at the Manor House, the lawns and the Barn - the perfect backdrop for all those amazing wedding shots :)

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

Yes but discretion is key

What’s your favourite canapé?

Those little Yorkshire puds with roast beef and horseradish inside

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

Pizza fresh from the Pizza truck (you can hire them to cater at the Manor for those midnight munchies)

What is your venue's most unique feature?

I think it has to be the combo of the barn and the Manor sitting alongside. You just don't get the two together like this. It's like having the best of both a Stately Home and a Barn venue

What part of your business are you most proud of?

She's called Sharon. She was our nanny for 20 x years and she's now the Ops. Manager. She knows everything there is to know. She will show you round and answer all your questions. And nothing is too much. She's a real keeper!
