Exchange your vows in one of our beautiful State Rooms, the characterful turret, or outdoors overlooking the castle and its picturesque gardens. Afterwards, enjoy drinks in our cosy bar, elegant lounge or on the lawn before dining on exceptional seasonal cuisine created by our talented in-house chefs.
For smaller celebrations, our unique turret provides an intimate setting where you can enjoy a luxurious seven-course wedding breakfast paired with carefully selected wines. Our weddings cater for intimate celebrations from 2 guests up to larger weddings of 120 guests. Venue hire pricing varies depending on the season, selected date, and whether the wedding takes place midweek or at the weekend.
Ceremony Only: Private use of our Ceremony Room for up to 45 guests or our Turret for up to 10 guests set up with gold Cheltenham chairs, carpet aisle runner, stereo system
Non Exclusive Use:
- Private use of our ceremony room for your ceremony, set up with gold Cheltenham chairs, carpet aisle runner and stereo system.
- Private use of our dining room for your wedding breakfast, with tables, chairs and linen fully set up (decorations and flowers not included).
- The Honeymoon Suite on your wedding night.
Exclusive Use:
When you choose Exclusive Use venue hire, you’ll have private use of our entire venue, its function rooms and grounds, including all the items listed under Non Exclusive Use. Exclusive use hire of the castle can be added for £995. Please ask your wedding coordinator for details of this option.

We also stayed the night before the wedding. I can definitely say we did not want for ANYTHING. They knew exactly what they were doing and did it well. I seriously felt like we were special and the only guests they ever had!!! I know they do this daily and have served over thousands of people, so to keep that magical spark is a miracle. Never felt like a burden or inconvenience. Staff are beyond beyond beyond incredible. Don’t even get me started on the food…WOW!!!! Our family fell in love with the service staff and talk about them still. This venue and experience changed many of our guests lives as most of them don’t get to travel much, and they made a trip out of this for our wedding. It was the most fairy tale magical experience. Grounds are beautiful, immaculate. I just want all of the staff to know, I can’t imagine how much work goes into each event. For us it went beyond just enjoying an experience. The staff made a difference in all of our lives for us feeling like they were part of the Wedding and added such positivity to our travel memories. We really appreciated the catering team going through the trouble of organising dishes suitable for our guests individual needs - and the food was so lovely! The staff that maintain the cleanliness of the building do amazing work, and the management team work so hard to ensure everyone is happy well looked after! We also had fireworks, archery and an owl ring delivery which brought a lot of magic to the day. We wish we could live the experience over and over again! I came over last November and did a walk around and signed our contract within days of returning home. The staff are second to none. They truly care about your experience. We booked Auchen for our 10 year vow renewal on April 21, 2026. It was a small group of just immediate family, but they made it feel just as special as if we were booked for 100. Each step from choosing food, to help with vendors, all was communicated so timely. Again, being across the pond, I was super anxious of all the logistics because we are 5 hours behind. Every team member kindly answered all my questions and answered every email….and I sent a lot! The day of the renewal was a dream. The grounds are kept so well and we were fortunate with sun! From the staircase, to the ceremony room, to the beautiful suites upstairs or the swing by the lake, there’s no shortage of photo opportunities! Our four course dinner was stunning and they were super patient the next day with our breakfast as a few guests were a bit late to appear, haha. Thank you just doesn’t seem to cover how appreciative my family, my husband and I are, for this place. Take a tour! Very quiet area and beautiful castle. A lot of character to produce an amazing experience for the wedding celebration we attended. I would certainly consider here for a function myself. We don't believe in 'best' weddings. All of our weddings are so unique and memorable in different ways.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Please remember it's your day. Do what makes you feel comfortable and happy – keeping it simple with personal touches generally works best.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Using the table numbers to decorate the tables with a photo of the couple at that the same age. E.g. table 1 had a photo of them at a year old, table 2 when they were two year's old, and so on. I hadn't seen that before and thought it was such a cute and unique idea!

Mini baked potatoes filled with our heritage tomato salsa and Lockerbie cheddar.
