“Poieto” was born in 1959 as a winter resort, from the brilliant mind of Mario Grigis, a historical figure of Bergamo skiing, who, two years earlier, in Aspen, Colorado, during an Intersky world congress, learned the secrets of the great resorts American winters.
No sooner said than done. First, the "club-house" was born, then the cable car and the high-altitude ski lifts. Some compared the “Poieto” to the Sestriere degli Agnelli, others to a miniature Cortina. The fact is that from the 70s there was a succession of ski events, with the big names of the "white circus": from Thoeni to Radici, from Gros to Krizaj and others.
