Ottmanngut Suite and Breakfast Full Description
A family home and guesthouse where tradition lives on: the Ottmanngut can tell many stories, the everyday and the curious, the artistic and the fantastic, the funny and the serious, all worthy of discovery. The grandeur of yesterday meets the style of today at the Ottmanngut. The Ottmanngut loves nature, which continues to mark its style and character. The traditional spa town of Meran presents itself to visitors with its Mediterranean climate and southern vegetation, all against a magnificent Alpine backdrop of impressive peaks. The Ottmanngut too enjoys the mild climate and splendid plant life in all its Mediterranean glory, with oleander, citrus fruits, palms, cypresses and more besides. Orangerie An essential part of the garden is the historic orangery, the winter quarters for the citrus fruits. Built in 1875 by Tobias Kirchlechner, it is still used for the same purpose today. Thus kumquats, lemons, Buddha’s hands and tangerines can all in winter be found in the glasshouse with its original cement tiles. During the warmer months this living room extension hosts readings and musical evenings. And there is nothing more romantic than breakfast in the orangery while the rain pours down outside! Our very own vineyard Our vineyard behind the house also offers secluded spots where guests can relax and read. The grapes have always been used to make wine and juice: Vernatsch grape juice or a mix of Lagrein, Nebbiolo and Cabernet. Events Art, culture & gastronomy at the Ottmanngut

Wonderful stay ! Warm and authentic
We had a wonderful stay at the Ottmanngut! The rooms are lovingly designed down to the last detail, and the three-course breakfast served every morning is a highlight. Martin and his team are warm and authentic, you just feel comfortable. The dinners offered twice a week are highly recommended - not just because of the food, but above all thanks to the wonderful encounters with other guests that are possible here. We can fully recommend the Ottmanngut and would be happy to come back. Fabian & Cl

A wonderful, very special place, delicious food !
A wonderful, very special place, with lots of little details. The garden and the breakfast are fantastic, delicious food! Try the lemonade in the afternoon with some small dishes. The location is perfect, close enough to the city but very quiet and away from the tourist stream. The host recommend amazing restaurant options and reserved all our tables.

Beautiful garden, fantastic chef, will be back !
Beautiful garden for breakfast and the communal dinner if you are lucky to be there on the nights it runs. Fantastic young chef who thoughtfully plans using a variety of local produce. The rooms are beautifully furnished and the library is full. Can recommend sitting out in the sunroom when the weather isn’t cooperating. Martin and his family are the consummate hosts. I’ll be back!

For our honeymoon, incredible ! Love to return
This might be my favorite place we stayed on our entire honeymoon. The space balanced elegance, culture, and touches of style that come from a family that loves their work. Every morning included a unique three course breakfast based on the season and region. It was incredible. The full breakfast gave us the proper fuel to walk the Tappeiner Promenade which overlooks the city of Merano and connects to various other trails which lead you around the region. I would love to return to this area agai
