The roots of the Inn date back to the end of the 19th century. It owes its name to grandmother Zita , who managed it for many years, making the Locanda a gastronomic and hospitality reference among the restaurants and hotels of Sestola; since 1987 we have been continuing this centuries-old tradition with the same passion.
The restaurant is ancient, in stone and wood, located in the center of the medieval village of Vesale, which is located a few km from Sestola, the "Pearl" of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, and from the Cimone ski resorts.
It has a restaurant and tasting cellar, nine rooms and two suites, solarium and wellness corner.
Our culinary specialties are mushroom-based dishes and those typical of the mountain tradition such as Crescentine and Gnocco Fritto.
The pasta is handmade; Tagliatelle, Tortelloni and Tortellini, Rosette, Strozzapreti and Potato Gnocchi combined with game and seasonal mushrooms such as Porcini, Blackthorns, Morels and Truffles.
The restaurant
Traditional mountain cuisine is the basis of our gastronomic proposals, with particular attention to typical local products and seasonality. Mushrooms are the specialty of the house, starting with the Dormienti, since the month of February, then followed by the Morels, the Blackthorns, the Galletti, the Russole, the Porcini, the Ovoli and Trombette , until late autumn, when even the local truffle enhances the flavors of the dishes. The pasta deserves particular mention, all strictly hand-made in the laboratory located inside the restaurant, and the typical traditional recipes, such as fried gnocco and crescentine, hunters and roasts, but also sliced meats, fillets, local cured meats and local cheeses . During the autumn period, dishes based on chestnut flour are served. Finally, the desserts, all prepared directly in the Locanda's kitchen. In short, a genuine cuisine that tastes of ancient flavors that still today know how to stimulate the appetite and satisfy any type of palate.
